    Simple QoL additions to get players to settle a bit

    Here is a brief list of things that will help settle players down if implimented correctly and timely.

    1. Market board, Inn, and second Aetherite in every city

    2. Cross region party finder

    3. Expanded glamour dresser

    4. Expanded poetics cap

    5. Fully implimented dual dye on all gear

    6. Cross class glamour

    7. Orchestration use outside of housing

    8. Lift New Game + restricted activities

    9. Expanded quest maximum

    10. Penta melding RNG relaxed.

    What else simple qol changes do you think would help?

    None of these are things I would like to see rushed as a band-aid to the current discontent. Doing things for the wrong reason usually means holding them to the wrong criteria and then doing them badly.

    I agree. this does nothing to address what most people would seem to find "problematic"

    Its about QUALITY OF LIFE improvements to help settle people.

    They only have certain things in one city, and other things in the other, to make both of them active so players feel these cities are busy.

    Easier said than done. We were told this would take at least a few years so they will have to think of other ways to do it.

    I'm sure they are trying but they always say they struggle with these limits for data and database traffic reasons.

    They are working on it. It's a gradual process.
    6. Cross class glamour
    They are torn on this because some of their team want it as well. But it's a difficult debate because they don't want the majority of mages to be looking like tanks.

    This would be nice.

    Not realistic. Perhaps you do not understand how there is a data swap going on. It's likely very sensitive and you wouldn't want the NG+ data to overwrite your real progression so that you've actually gone backwards to that point in the MSQ. Not doing other activities helps prevent unforeseen bugs.
    9. Expanded quest maximum
    Would be nice. I don't know if there is some reason for it but they tend to say the users have a limit to what their UI can handle. Which is obviously nonsense, on a PC at least.
    10. Penta melding RNG relaxed.
    RNG has always been part of MMOs. It's much more relaxed in this game compared to traditional MMOs as it is. It could end up boring with none at all.

    1. That's an intentional design choice made to keep the cities populated. If once city had everything, no one would ever go to the other one ever again.

    2. While cool, it's likely impossible (for now, anyway) for technical reasons.

    3. They tend to change that over time as the tech improves. IIRC the devs want this themselves, but can't just make sweeping changes to the system.

    4. Why? What benefit would it have?

    5. IIRC they're planning to add that in upcoming patches

    6. Probably never going to happen. That's an intentional aesthetic choice on the part of the dev team.

    7. IIRC, they said this is impossible right now due to the way the various audio tracks (zone music vs combat music vs mount music, etc) interact in the open world.

    8. That may be a technical limitation rather than an intentional design choice.

    9. Again, why? How often do you really have that many quests active at once?

    10. Again, this is an intentional design choice. They want it to be a gil sink. That's the point.

    I think these are the only things that could be implemented without having to commit resources. Dual die is possible on all dyeable gear because it has always let you dye the one channel and then automatically compliment the other, the second channel simply overrides what the game picks.

    I don't see cross-class glamour ever being done for much the same reason healer roles ever changing. There's no technical reason why they can't, just identity reasons. I'd rather the AF gear stay locked, but everything else, well going all the way back to the stormblood gear, it's pretty clear there isn't 7 unique gear types, only about 3 and they just mix and match the parts.

    You know what would be cool though? Allow players to mix and match those parts instead. If a "chest" piece has three different optional parts, then just let the player pick which parts are displayed (mutually exclusive, eg "Variant Part A, Variant Part B, Variant Part C") like we deal with dyes.

    The poetics cap probably doesn't need to change, but I would appreciate the game not just "throwing away" poetics/scrips that max out. Just let the player bank them up to 10,000 (and all the other raid tokens if there is no inventory space) and when they actually want to use banked tokens/tomes/scrips tell the player that they must withdraw them from a specified NPC in the same room with the merchants that deal with these.

    Likewise the glamour dresser/plates just needs to be a "per job" thing, because at this point it's most cost effective to dump gear you need to level with into the dresser and then pull it back out if you want to level something new, than try to find it in the retainers.
