I got tired of fighting Ulda's wards and started putting my retainers in the Limsa wards. My stuff actually still sells.

Solution to all of the above issues: Burn the market wards to the ground and build a global auction house on the ashes.

Good thing they're doing something akin to this in 2.0.

Hmm restricting sales to your home nation isn't a half bad idea, it's basically fair to everyone since it forces everyone to split up more or less equally.

Another idea I've had was to restrict what's sold in each town by what guilds are in that town.
Need Armor? Search Limsa.
Need a Bow? Search Gridania.
Need cloth/clothes? Search Ul'Dah.

the only way they could do that is if they gave us 3 retainers and then people would complain about having to put different items on each retainer. They already have a fix coming in 2.0 we will just have to wait.
