Yup, it would have been so much easier if that could happen. But people in XIV don't like to spend an extra 5 seconds to go to the other market house lol.You know. . . That could work pretty well, give people a bigger tax-break if they used the ward that corresponded to the nation they were allied with.
It'd make it smoother if you could search all 3 wards from one mercantile house too instead of it being like "Check price/zone/check price/zone/check price/zone/buy item"
What they did so far (in essense) was great. But the community is what kills it... much like the search system.
Yes, you should be able to search and buy from all three towns without having to zone in and out of mercantile houses. That alone would help immensely. As it is, only Uldah is worth selling in because that's all anyone searches.
That's all YOU search.
I seach Limsa first and Gridania second.
You know the system sucks, they have said they can't fix it yet, if you pay attention to the signs you will SEE how goddamn obnoxious and retarded this game's inner core programming must be. But we as players can heavily alleviate this issues.
Start helping the change, don't check the Ul'Dah wards first, check them last and on if it really fails, give incentive to the markets elsewhere. Don't try to station both of you retainers on Ul'Dah, put one elsewhere! Put some stuff that people actually wants to sell in there!
Start making a goddamn difference, after you have done your part as a player, then you can complain. We know the system is retarded, the devs know the system is retarded, so let's do what we can.
You just told us that you spent a week trying to get your retainer in Ul'dah. You can't really talk poorly of the community when you do the exact thing they do.
What needs to happen, is have the markets work the way the auction house worked in XI. You pay the tax up front, which would prevent people from placing stuff up for max gil, and it's up for a maximum of 7 days. There is no reason why this stuff stays up indefinitely.
