    Robo FOMO

    Greetings,

I post this in the vain hope of turning a mistake into something production.

Here is the situation I'm facing. In an act of not paying attention while also getting click happy, I've found myself in the possession of eighteen Radiant Roborants that I have no need of. With the current available relic weapons, the item upgrades themselves are rather useless.

Everyone I've spoke with about this says to just discard the lot, but I don't wish to make the eighteen Aglaia runs be for nothing and to be more honest, I'm rather scared that they *might* have a use down the line. Am I diving head first into FOMO, fear of missing out, for nothing or might I be justifed in saving them? Dang indecisive brain.

    Thanks for Reading,
    Lien

They will never have any other use down the line. In fact, once the next expansion comes out they will become unobtainable as will the base gear that they currently upgrade. Toss them.

They definitely will not have any use other than the current use in the future.

If you occasionally get Radiant Weapons back from Quick Ventures, you could use them to upgrade the weapons prior to turning them in for Expert Deliveries to get a slightly larger amount of seals. Or if there was a Radiant Weapon you wanted to keep for glamour, you could upgrade it so it can be dyed.

    Otherwise, just toss them.

There is always that supposedly "one-time-item-replacement" from a GM. This MIGHT not apply since you didn't discard them, but I think I read somewhere on here or reddit of a player that did get a tomestone purchase refunded, but that's their "one-time refund."

Think about it - what would someone discard that they can't get back and would be worth this one-time refund? If the answer is "nothing is worth the one-time refund" - then anything is worth the one-time refund.

In the OP's case, it is time. 18 24-man runs is painful. In my personal opinion, I would NOT have bothered upgraded this mid-tier stuff to i630 using those coins. I'd just wait until the last gear patch and turn in all of those 24-man coins from all 3 raids to upgrade weapons that will last until level 100 in the next expansion. But that's just me.

I know it’s too late for this in this particular case but next time around, consider just holding on to the coins instead of pre-buying the upgrade items. Aglaia coins are used to upgrade 620 gear to 630 gear and will also be used to upgrade 650 gear to 660 gear, if the pattern holds. Could save you some grinding down the line. The coins themselves also will become useless upon the launch of 7.0, when all of the upgraded gear becomes more easily obtainable with just poetics.

I’ve made plenty of “mistakes” myself with endgame gearing and in general, I’ve found things just keep getting easier to acquire as time goes on so it’s better to use your resources for things that will help immediately.
