You misunderstood what I mean by patch date. I don't mean the "week 1 content" patch day, because you certainly get the best and most diligent players for sure. There is a reason why these players clear the tier within weeks or at most a month.

When I said patch day I mean days of the patches that ~2 months down the line, after people had get used to having all of those tool. The patches tend to break those tool, so on those days PF often just turn to shit until the tools are updated.

In that case you really don't even need a patch day for PF to turn into a clown fiesta, the content being 2 months old is already enough.

1. Know what they're doing
2. Communicate properly when something goes wrong
3. Actually discuss solutions to mechanics
and generally clear the fight relatively quickly.


Instead I find that the longer into it's lifecycle the content is the worse players you will find in PF, despite all the tools and guides, that everyone supposedly crutches on, already being updated.
You get people who can't perform their basic dummy rotation correctly, don't know mechanics, don't talk about it when they're having issues with mechanics, move to the wrong spots constantly despite positions being clearly established beforehand and regularly try to blame anything but themselves.


And Light certainly isn't a glorious utopia of skilled players, maybe it's a difference between NA and EU, who knows.

Yeah, I can't even be bothered to try anymore. I had P7S done in early October and that was already a struggle, took a break from pugging for a while and now I'm way too late to clear P8S without wanting to pull my hair out in frustration.

If people want the Stormblood relics they should suck it up and do Eureka. Bozja having a bunch of cool stuff such as CLL/Dalriada and Delubrum Reginae was amazing. That's the kind of content we need and -not- give the option to get relics outside of such foray.
Difficulty wise, Ultimates are designed for a tiny fraction of the playerbase, it doesn't reflect the midcore players like I said. Stormblood was the perfect middle ground.

Stormblood really was peak
