Why do people avoid getting better at the game?

Well, if it's truly does than you wouldn't have any issue. After all, that's the only kind of math that matter to the dev. The fact you're have to sprinkle salt around kinda show the opposite.



Joke on you, in my hayday I was part of some of the hardcore guilds that made "don't touch me you filthy casual" their motto and fully embrace it. Even these days. I'm still pretty much not associating with "casual", like the casual over there and I'm over here, keep a respective distant When I do Ex or Savage, I carry no one. You don't pull your weight, either you get the kick or I leave. If the casual want to get into "my party", they better bring the skill or they ain't getting in.

The difference between you and me however, is that I acknowledge the boundary and different brackets. Like I said above, if a player (casual or not) want to get into the bracket that I'm in, I expect them to be up to my level. But when I cross over into their territory, I will also respect the content created for them and try to have fun with it. Unlike you, I don't make every content bracket about me.

I'm not one to sugar coat things. I will say what's on mind and if it hurts feelings so be it. These things have to be said and there quite a few people who feel this way just won't say it out right. Only way for people to get better is to go out and play the the game how it's supposed to be played not stand around and gawk. If you got time to do that got time to get better.

I'm sorry but it also needs to be said that you have no right to tell people what to do. What you think only turbo nerds back in the day played MMO's for the sake of the game? Heck no, not everyone was a raider nor did everyone knew how to play the game fully, back in those times people used the game as an interactive avenue to make friends, chat and just hang around with. Its those people that kept the genre from becoming niche and breakout into the mainstream.

Like I said, if people want the reward of the higher tier content, they will up their skill because they have to, otherwise the reward is denied to them. But assuming they have no interest in those reward, or playing at a higher level isn't fun for them, then why should they? Why are you so offended at how other playing their game?


I guess people like you are everywhere. I have several people irl kept telling me I should go and get Ph.D, and I keep telling them I don't need it. I can also pick up a second job, which will give me more income ... but I don't, because I don't need it, even if it means extra money. Is that also wrong for me not "trying to be better" because those thing "exceed" what will make me happy? After all, people play their game to make them happy, not making you happy.

if you come into a trial, raid etc and don't pull your weight you are not only making me not happy but all the other players. We the players that actually do what we have to do not appreciate people that don't take the time to get better. If I heal and you make multiple mistakes all the time and die alot I will not only not heal you I will NOT rez you at all. I rather save my MP for the rest of the players that deserve it who are actually pulling their weight in a match. If you decide to play a MMO every player expects you to be at least somewhat good. If you can't do that then you are a hinderance It is time that casuals finally get what many people who have put time and effort in getting better feel when they hurt other players by dragging them down

Why not consider keeping that player alive to be part of the challenging content? That's what I do any time I heal in a party with someone who can't stay alive. I just make it a game to see how long I can keep them up. It's actually really funny.

I dont do savage or ultimates, but I enjoy the raids and things like that, I consider myself one of the filthy "casuals" you say are ruining your experience. not sure how I am "dragging" you down, and while I almost feel I should apologize for ruining your entire game experience by not being a sweatlord... I cant. I put a lot of effort into what I have, and by not having fishing to 90 like you, which shows how lazy I am, I feel I have put in as much effort as you. I just dislike the stress of savages etc. so, you go on being someone whose experience is ruined by my existence servers away, and I will go on enjoying my game time doing what I like ^^
