You can easily make two packs of mobs harder so you can't wall to wall. Add silences or whatever. Maybe more incoming damage
Honestly as a casual player the hyper linear nature of wall to wall is absolutely boring and it's why I only want to do dungeons once. Obviously because of roulettes we can't, but the design is so crap it makes me feel that way. Also there is no need to get better. Sure Savage gear looks cooler, but if I wait long enough I can casually do it with my FC. Gearing in general is relatively pointless as eventually a new expansion comes out and invalidates all my gear progression anyway.
