I hope we all realize that the devs’ answer to this is the exact same as it’s always been.

Players being ‘bad’, not playing right, holding back parties, whatever the complaints are this week lol. The devs have a solution

    make it easier

Also just to reiterate, this thread is bait and I was hungry lol

I thought the same thing when I was younger but the sad reality is that people are more likely to just quit.

XIV offers such a casual experience that the player base has never had a reason to actually get better at game mechanics outside of those who wish to participate in Extreme/Savage/Ultimate content.
See, and in my case, the only reason I built up enough confidence to get into Extremes and Savages was that the game was casual and friendly. In 10 years in WoW, I have never dared to enter any high end content, because people were toxic even in low level normal dungeons if you god forbid wanted to do the whole dungeon for quests.
Casual appeal is the best way to get people to eventually try hardcore PvE content. The transition happens gradually, naturally, and there's no pressure like in WoW, which doesn't have anything meaningful to offer to players who don't enjoy WoW endgame.

Yeah but that's anecdotal. What's the real percentage of how many players in XIV are doing Savage, compared to players raiding in WoW.

I would argue that the skill difference and lack of actual ramp-up can develop confidence problems. Maybe you felt more confident because you've been playing MMOs in general for longer?

Granted those are very different experiences..

And anecdotally, I felt pretty confident to jump into raid first week of trying WoW. Where I really don't even want to bother with XIV prog in Endwalker. (That's less of a confidence problem, more XIV just being more annoying to find groups or pug)

battle system in this game is already simple enough that is almost brain dead , 0 challenge on casual content is not acceptable , this is not trying to be elitism, is the fun on the fight is gone !
example ->people can literally lay on the ground for entire 24 man and still clear !? or getting relic in bozja while laying on the ground for entire dungeon run? is that fun?
casual people complain literally everything not just battle system , look what happen to relic in this expansion !? people complain bozja which include a lot of interesting machnics and is open world content , and help people to level , after the remove, relic become trash not even rewarding.
listen carefully , how many eliteism folks are complaining ? and how casual folks are complaining ?
casualism folks already speak too loud and too much that pretty much make this game not fun and make RPG aspect GONE!

On EW release, I'd also argue the first two bosses of Dead Ends were pretty tricky, too. Even the Magus Sisters (final boss version) was a fun ride because of the mechanic barf that's Delta Attack (funny to think Delta Attack is harder than most mechanics in the 24-man raids lol).

Oh God I remember Mist Dragon. I've seen groups that would end up disbanding and never finishing the dungeon because of Mist Dragon, failing time and time again because of the difficulty. I think they nerfed it now though.

The first Endwalker dungeon's last boss was a real bitch too. So much happening at once. Totally forgave anyone new to it that was confused and kept dying to the mechanics.

Most people don't feel to get better because it's fucking boring and obnoxious in Final Fantasy.

Do you rotation properly? Look it up on a Discord.
Want to play properly? Need Allagan technology to fix the network.
Missed one week? Already dead for progress.
Wanna gear up? Wait for some math crackhead to release his 15th list.

For real this game has one of the worst rotation, gearing and progression system I've ever seen in any game, it's horrible.
It's like you must force yourself to get into this.

What a bad excuse. Look up the rotation on discord? Most people would already improve by 300% if they could keep their GCD rolling for more than 10% of the dungeon. Thats how bad the average player is.

So what the average player encounters average content, which is what they signed up for, therefore, there is no need for elitism outside of hard content. The debate about why people don't strive to improve is illogical. It's like asking why someone doesn't try to be better when they have chosen an easy difficulty level. They are simply not interested in a harder challenge. Going above that is what I described before an annoying task that serves no purpose when they have no intention to go down that road anyway.
