See, and in my case, the only reason I built up enough confidence to get into Extremes and Savages was that the game was casual and friendly. In 10 years in WoW, I have never dared to enter any high end content, because people were toxic even in low level normal dungeons if you god forbid wanted to do the whole dungeon for quests.
Casual appeal is the best way to get people to eventually try hardcore PvE content. The transition happens gradually, naturally, and there's no pressure like in WoW, which doesn't have anything meaningful to offer to players who don't enjoy WoW endgame.

Yeah but that's anecdotal. What's the real percentage of how many players in XIV are doing Savage, compared to players raiding in WoW.

I would argue that the skill difference and lack of actual ramp-up can develop confidence problems. Maybe you felt more confident because you've been playing MMOs in general for longer?

Granted those are very different experiences..

And anecdotally, I felt pretty confident to jump into raid first week of trying WoW. Where I really don't even want to bother with XIV prog in Endwalker. (That's less of a confidence problem, more XIV just being more annoying to find groups or pug)
