Oh, I have. I've had a handful of times where someone has given advice in a duty (in a friendly manner, mind you) and other people will jump in and say "You're doing fine, don't listen to them". It hasn't been as common now that a lot people are afraid to give advice, but when ShB was current, I saw it in at least one duty a day.
But to add my own two cents, I feel like when the game does add something that challenges players (take In From The Cold, for example), people were complaining left and right that they were struggling with it and couldn't beat it within the first few tries, so the devs nerfed it.
I'm not saying the game has to be horrendously hard, but when pushed to challenge themselves, people just get frustrated, give up, and complain until it gets nerfed. I personally just find that at least in the current generation, Gen Z, and even younger millennials, people give up if they don't get instant gratification. But yet they are made to believe thatthey have the skills and aptitude to beat a challenge so the content at hand must be the problem.
In from the cold was great. Imparted a sense of urgency, despair, and weakness. I did it first try but I had to play a lot differently than normal. Some people can't adapt.

It was also very boring from a mechanical point. A single attack button, bulwark, FoF and a self heal button. Not everyone who disliked it found it difficult.

I found it frustrating because they wanted you to avoid combat and try and stealth around but then added a ticking clock in the corner and nothing says be careful and take your time like watching a timer count down

I did it first try as well but I have a background in stealth games. They're my favorite genre. I loved this instance. I could definitely see how people without that background could have had an issue, though. I haven't done it since they adjusted it, but didn't they just make what to do a little clearer? Or did they adjust some of the mobs so you could sneak past easier?

On very easy the objectives are all close to one another and mobs die faster.I did it first try as well but I have a background in stealth games. They're my favorite genre. I loved this instance. That doesn't sound too horrible of a change. Especially if normal is still there for anyone who likes it. Helps people get through where stealth isn't really their thing.
Or just asking first can be really effective. There will always be those who will get angry no matter what you do, but if someone is an active part of the interaction and asked if they want advice and agree, they're much more receptive than having some random person just start finding fault with them in front of others. Nobody likes to be dressed down in front of others. That's why management training involves how and where to speak to your employees about issues. And one key factor is not doing it on the floor.

It may be a small minority, but yes those people definitely exist. Unless someone wants to claim the entirety of r/TalesOfDutyFinder is fake and made up (lol), there definitely exists these people that put their own hands over another player's ears and yell "blah blah blah" when third person tries to suggest improvements, regardless of how polite they are. It's freaking wild, man. I just... don't understand this mindset.Oh, I have. Sure, but there's also no ignoring that there are people who just don't want to put in the effort to beat it.
While unrelated to In From The Cold, the other day I was running LotA. One of the DPS that was supposed to be attacking Atomos was instead focusing on the adds that the tank was dragging to the ranged on the pad. One of the healers asked the DPS to focus Atomos while us ranged killed mobs. The DPS said "No. It's just Labryinth, who cares? It's braindead content".
And it's like, I have seen the "It's just [insert duty]" as an excuse to not play properly for years. If it's such braindead easy content, how come people still can't do the content correctly? Unless they're not doing it correctly on purpose. Which coincides with people not wanting to get better or wanting to try.
And btw, naturally we wiped at the last boss. 'Cause it's "braindead".
