Well it's your money so do what you want. 500K is a small amount of money though and honestly gil doesn't really have many uses in the endgame. It's good for some glamor, mounts, or buying HQ items for GC turn ins.
Housing if you are lucky. That's about it after that. Most any other uses for it get replaced with mats. Want to repair? There is a mat for that if you have the skill level on your crafters. Teleports? There is an item for that to do free or discounted teleports.
I guess of hard-core in raiding you can buy food/pots. Or make it yourself.
IIRC they are not, you can buy them as much as you want. They are also IN MY OPINION worse than WoW tokens cause WoW tokens dont generate gold, they are a good that can be traded for other peoples gold, the Job Boosts generate gil, inflating the game more and more everytime one is purchased
The boosts are one per character for each Job. Though eligibility does technically get reset with every expansion as they release a new updated set of boosts. Adding another 40€/$ to the total cost (and a potential 1mil Gil extra) with the previous expansion's Jobs...IIRC they are not, you can buy them as much as you want. But still, you're paying hundreds of cash for an effectively inconsequential amount of in-game gil. Not worth it unless you're a billionaire who has more money than common sense.
I think they're more intended for alt characters and what not, maybe if you want to have a character on 2 different regions and what not and don't want to go through the work of leveling both.
Experience is easy to come by. So is gil. However, some people would rather trade real-life cash for in-game benefits so they don't have to do that grind. Just remember, journey before destination. If your goal is only the destination, you'll likely not find much joy in it if you arrive without the journey.
The first 500,000k you got should be used to finance lvling your crafting. And really, you can do that in less than a week while making back most of it, then you can start earning gil probably. Or have one battle class and one crafting at 90 and just ... play the game, weekly, daily, clear your challenge log, doing hunt, customer delivery .etc. you'll have 500k a week just by "playing" the game even without actively trying to make gil.Honestly, if yall know ways I can make gil that doesn't involve crafting, let me know. I wanna buy a 10k mil mount and 10x Thavnarian Onions for my Chocobo. Really the only reason I want more gil lel, I passively buy the other stuff in my wishlist, like potions, food, tinctures, etc.
Trying to buy gil at the booster rate is not ... really sustainable even with a disposable income given how many thing you would want to buy (and trust me, once you check off the last item of your current wishlist, you'll just make another list). Even if you can afford it, the amount you need to spend will put you upthere with a gacha addict.
See thats what i thought aswell, but i heared someone say that you can buy them over and over if you dont use the boost booksThe boosts are one per character for each Job. Though eligibility does technically get reset with every expansion as they release a new updated set of boosts. Adding another 40€/$ to the total cost (and a potential 1mil Gil extra) with the previous expansion's Jobs...

Technically, the thread starter is right. There is a possibility to buy Gil for real money without violating the TOS. But it is still abolutely not comparable to WoW and the token. WoW is muuuuuch worse here because you can buy many tokens over and over again.
Cheers
The token only works as long as someone is willing to buy them, do people here even know how to it works?
As someone who played WoW since WoD. WoW token is guaranteed to sell in under 5 hours.
