Buying class boost for gil - Money making

Is it morally okay to buy a shop class boost for classes you have no intention of playing for the 500k gil?

Do you know anyone who did it? And is it no different from buying a WoW token each month?

If you buy all the classes, so one class each month, after buying them all, you'll end up with nearly 10k mil gil.

There's not really any sort of moral dilemma here, but it is also nothing like buying a WoW token. These are one-time purchases.

People definitely do it for some reason.. But Gil is so easy to come by, only new players might do it.

.. Do you need 500k? Why spend $25?

    That's what $475 for 9.5mil?

I'll just.. Give you a mil. lol

I did it literally once, on my first character.
I had just noticed a price drop on a house and realized it had just entered the sweet spot, so I boosted BLM (which was super annoying to level pre-EW) so I could join the bid spammers by the placard.
    Got the house too!

I boosted Monk during SHB to 70 because I'd already leveled it twice on other characters to 80, and didn't want to experience leveling it from 60 to 70 again. The 500k was a nice little bonus that made me consider it, since it would essentially be legal gil purchasing, exorbitant though it might be.

You could theoretically do it endlessly if you had money to really blow like that. All you would have to do is keep creating new characters, buying boosts for them, and then transferring the money through a friend, second account, or FC box.

But man, that's really scalping yourself.

Why in gods name would anyone pay $21 for 500k gil.

When you can just go craft some low level 20-50lvl recipes and put them on the marketboard and make bank.

I remember waaaay back in ARR I bought a Culinarian leveling for 500K. They supplied all the HQ foods you'd need to level up via the leve system.

I had no idea how efficient this was until I witnessed it first hand.

So not only did I get a job boosted, but I learned a new, more efficient way to level. Seems like a great investment in hindsight.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

It is in fact a fraction of the gil you would get if you would push the job/story naturally. I find it fair that you get the gil you would get through the quests, ARR gives a lot of gil through all the allagan coin rewards from quests.

And also i find the boosts also priced really fairly, it's the amount of money you would spend on the sub fee if you would play the character up normally.

So yeah no worries it is morally alright to be a whale tho i feel a bit bad for those people, i can go make bunny fates in Eureka and get 1m-5m gil in three hours. Doesn't even take effort just being afk and reading a book...i do it while i study mostly. With boosts that would be like over a 100 bucks? I would say boost once if you don't care about the story and then read some guides on how to make gil quick, through retainers you can make massive amounts of gil even without playing the game at all.

<< I been finished the story, and my Dancer isn't boosted, I was being theoretical, and if I should try making ez 500k gil monthly via buying the boost. Not buying them all together like a slow person heh.

Honestly, if yall know ways I can make gil that doesn't involve crafting, let me know. I wanna buy a 10k mil mount and 10x Thavnarian Onions for my Chocobo. Really the only reason I want more gil lel, I passively buy the other stuff in my wishlist, like potions, food, tinctures, etc.

I mean, it's your money. No one's going to care if you play that job or not. If $25 bucks is worth 500k gil to you, then by all means.

I generally make a few hundred thousand gil a week without even really trying to and you can make more if you do fairly quickly.
