We should be able to mute crafters

This has been in game for almost 10 years and it just became a problem? This what happens when people are bored with patch....take break/play other game.

there’s been several threads about crafting sounds here, on reddit and in other places in the past 10 years. Just google FFXIV crafting sounds and you’ll see. This has nothing to do with being bored. Some types of sounds really cause serious discomfort and even physical reactions to some people.


That sound hurts me too and but the worse were the bards playing on top of each other until I found the option to mute them. Despite that, the first thing I do when I land in Limsa is use the aetheryte to get away from the noisy crowd.

Now I have a house near a MB and there are no crafters nor crowd noises around so that’s what I use. Although houses are hard to get and require +3Mil, you could buy an apartment in a city (I have one on each of my characters) . You get a cheap teleport point and there is a MB, retainer bell and chocobo stable right in front of each apt building and there’s never any crafter around. There are some vendors in the building but you can also have some in your apt, along with an armoire, retainer bell, aesthetician and fc chest.

Burger King commercials fill me with rage, and trigger feelings of wanting to put my foot through the television set. What they don't do is compel me to harass their corporate office demanding that they change their advertisement pitches, or complain on reddit. It's much easier and prudent to just change the channel.

Or just give a small option to turn them off, it doesnt take much now does it ?

This option is available. It's called mute. Or does Tinnitus and autism inhibit that also?

Yes, that's exactly what I said, if I mute "other pcs" it will also mute their emotes etc.

Yup.

You need to realize that this issue isn't about the time devs have or don't have to implement the specific filters being asked for. This is about you playing and mmo, and players doing what players do. You and/or the OP are in an occupied zone where players are free to craft as they please. If this is bothersome to you, it is within your power to either utilize the options to reduce the noise, or move to an area that is less occupied.

If this is an issue for you and others, how do you handle everyday things like traffic, construction zones, a vacuum cleaner, or other noise disturbances you have no control over? Just imagine if life had the luxury of a mute button. How grand would that be? In an mmo you have that luxury, and I strongly suggest you take advantage of it. If you don't want to mute the entire game, then either deal with it, or use the other options available to you.

I rather not mute other aspects of the game, like emotes, etc, because those noises make me feel like a part of the world. So I would like to mute crafting sounds specifically. I also have no issues with material melding sounds.

So you were told a temporary solution to your issue that works, but are too stubborn to implement it because you want to hear the VERY few generalized emote sounds someone MAY do around you because of immersion?
On top of this, you say in your original post that this seriously, seriously bothers you, yet you refuse to compromise to solve your problem because it inconveniences your game playing a little?.......

Or they can just add a slider to mute the crafting sounds. That sounds like help.
