There's weird shit in every company, so I don't doubt it. Mostly brought it up because seeing someone talk up Blizzard's work culture made me fall out of my chair laughing. Wasn't even an attempt to defend SE, who I have no problem criticizing.

Why did it make you fall out of your chair when they fired the harassers (if they even worked in the company still, most of the lawsuit stuff was ex-employees) and people that actually work there saying there is a positive trend?
Well, for one, some of the examples people are citing in this thread came from those years when the shit was going on. For two, it's called "workplace culture issue", not "workplace incident". Workplace culture is formed because most people are ok with it, or don't care about it, often in plain sight. That's why it takes a long time to form, and a long time to fix. Seeing it was just last year that they had to cancel Blizzcon 2022 and paid a 18mil settlement due to the fallout, I can totally understand the reaction why someone would "fall off their chair laughing" seeing what people have been posting the last few page.
I'm not saying Acti/Blizz should be held to this stain forever but ... well, I can put it a more polite way if it helps - it seems at least imprudent to bring them up "now" as a "good" example of workplace culture.
Actually the real problem is the people like yourself keep talking about how this game doesnt value your sub anymore yet you're being the biggest shill of us all by continuing to play and giving SE your money. If people are going to pretend they care about the game this much, then practice what you preach.
Either actually unsub and spend your money elsewhere or provide feedback but stop acting as you're above the criticism. Its as simple as that.
Let me answer it another way... people still run raids even though it is something that is freequently added to the game, why? It is same old story each time just with a new skin and a different way of doing it, it is the exact same way of putting it, and people still does it?.How long are we going to continue parroting old content as something to do? You can fool new players, but you can't fool anyone that's played longer than a year.
You make it seem like everyone's running POTD. Are you?
And if someone that's been playing for years replies with "Yeah I still need to do it, so there's plenty of content to do" - That just means you don't do it at all and you probably just AFK in Limsa, as the meme goes.
How long do people think it takes to finish POTD or Eureka? You suck on the same popsicle for years too?
As said take a break if you are bored and come back later or never, it is all up to you, not the developers... besides you can't rush out content either.. it requires quite alot of stuff to be done to get it right.

Like I said before - I lapsed 3 accounts. I reduced retainers. I don't buy anything from the cash shop anymore. I strictly keep a maintenance sub running for the house and FC now.
That money is now going toward WoW and Diablo 4.
The wait is to see how they turn the game around come 7.0. If it's the same old Shadowbringers 3.0, then I'll peace out for good. Because it just isn't fun anymore.
They HAVE to since they can't afford to have 3 bad expansions in a row, it would've been the final nail in the coffin. Personally, I've been burnt with giving WoW a chance time and again so I won't even consider playing Dragonflight until maybe the last patch, if at all.
PS: yall realize this wasn't a "WoW good XIV bad" and more "6.2-3 is a cursed number" right?
Currently a lot of people playing WoW are much happier for their game than what people in the forums express for our game. Although I havent peeked into their forums to actually check out the consensus but from what Ive been seeing, its mostly positive.
Its just funny how quickly people's attitudes change like a on and off switch with this genre, not too long ago so many people where on the "WoW bad! Shadowlands killed it, FFXIV good, it has lots of nice systems!" to know what we have today.
Kinda funny, kinda sad. Im just indifferent to the crowd mentality as Ive never was hyped but never tried to be a nitpicking, pessimistic butthole about games that I play. I just express what works and dont work and try to leave it at that.
Hmm, I wonder which MMO had a similar trend to this.
