Nah, just a very practical one. ~20 years ago I used to believe in these pinkish mushy "fan and the developers" thingy BS, and then I got old enough to realize none of that means squat. These day I just treat as a strictly professional exchange. Cold hard cash for a product I want, if they can't give me what I want then I'll take my money elsewhere, simple as that.

I'm here because I'm currently happy with the produce I receive ... in case you're missing the obvious. According to my philosophy, people like me being here is the natural order of thing, whether you and yours are the anomaly.

I mean ... I still have a lot of items I still use after 5-10 years, simply due to the fact they're still working. The moment some of them broke I throw them away and replace them without an iota of thought ... is that emotionally attached too for keep using stuffs simply because they ain't broke?!? So what are your specific needs as a player that will not be confused with the things you only want as a player?

Are you going to the right game to get those needs met?

YoshiP has been pretty clear about what FFXIV will offer and that players should take a break to play other games when they run out of content they want to do in this one. FFXIV is not an "only and forever" game. We'll all intended to be playing other games.

I know you've brought up feeling tied to the game by your house but your house is a want, not a need. Most adults learn to live quite easily without all the things they want, and to some extent they can manage if they're also lacking part of what they need.

To rephrase something Raven said earlier, you're engaged in a consumer relationship with Square Enix. They have a game product and service they are selling. They provide a basic description of that product/service and the price they are charging to provide it. You as the consumer decide whether or not what they're offering is what you want and if the price is reasonable. You either make the purchase or you don't. You provide feedback on what you like or don't like.

But that's as far as it goes. They owe you nothing beyond what the basic product/service description provides. If you expect more than what the basic descriptions include and are unhappy when you don't get it, it is your problem and not one that SE is obligated to rectify.

In this regard... kind of? Toto-rak, before its rework, had at least an alternate path to go down to get the green blobs but no one ever went that way. Dzemael Darkhold also had some off-path extra chests but no one ever went that way, even for gear pieces. Everyone takes the most expedient route for everything because this community is all about being Sonic. Gotta Go Fast. I don't think even adding in extra routes with bosses would really help, even with locking rare things behind a drop there. People would run it til they get the rare drop and never go that way again.

They could create three different parts (with different enemies and bosses) for each Dungeon and let Rng decide which one you get. That would Go a Long way. Heck you could even have Just different Fights for the First 2 Bosses as usually the last Boss IS related to the story anyway.
