They are probably afraid of hardcore pvp sweats forms party to roll over casual who plays alone. I guess some queue system can be used to ensure premade matches against premade. Yes... The current system where solo queue only is a lazy solution to that problem
They should at least make ranked solo-only and casual with premades. I haven't done much CC since like 6.2, but if I remember correctly, there really isn't much difference between casual and ranked anyways.

But I can definitely agree that sweaty PvP can be really terrible in this game. I once did frontlines just for exp, and I was caught in one of those PvP Revival organized match or whatever. There was one "commander" who was calling out every move - which was just capping a point, go back, cap that point and so on. Evading teamfights was a tactic. This was most boring match that I've played, and I clearly wasn't only one, since some drama started in alliance chat. Long story short, since then, I haven't played single match of frontlines.

    Wish D4 was better.
    Yup.

That always online is coming back to bite them HARD. Guy who was playing hardcore was killed by a...disconnect. Blizzards servers are living down to their reputation for instability.

Souaïb ‘carn’ Hanaf was livestreaming Diablo 4 when the game disconnected. After logging back in, carn discovered his max level Hardcore Barbarian was gone, leaving him no option but to create another character and start all over again.
And the scene is a stark reminder of the perils of always-online video games. The clip of carn's disconnect is sure to fuel complaints about Blizzard’s decision to make Diablo 4 unplayable offline.
I play a lot of other games, but any game that REQUIRES always online is usually a no buy for me. MMOs are one thing, granted, but D1 and 2 were playable offline.

Like I respect the commitment he used to have for 14,
"Used to have?" As far as I can see he has lost none of his dedication. Look, I get it people think there are issues, they all have their own gripes, but reading this far into someone you dont know is kinda a stretch.

How can you say "Yup" when you havent event played the game lol. D2:R and D3 are proof always online doesnt matter to people because majority of people that can spend 70 bucks on a game usually have a connection for majority of the year. And calling Blizz servers unstable while shilling for FF14 with the most garbage servers in the industry is peak VelKollor delusion. Its been a huge complaint in the Deep Dungeon community that the slightest server hiccup DCs you and automatically ends your run. Ofcourse you cant know that cause the only "content" you do is forum content.

just given how poor endwalker pve is I have big doubts that the cycles will change for 7.0, despite the fact that they have finally finished FF16 and will be able to recover some of the staff.

but currently I really hope that the content of 7.0 will be richer, otherwise the motivation to play it will not be there,
Endwalker was the extension of boredom so if the next one is of the same ilk there is no reason to play it.
To be honest, as much as I like FF meets DMC, I lost hope for 7.0. It's clear to me that they only thing they care about is mass market appeal, which makes sense, but all XVI does is have spectacular fight and lot and lots of nice cutscenes. The rest is boring. Kinda like XIV. EW was a success, XVI probably is, too. I'll probably join the people who only do the MSQ and then unsub for a year or two.

-Comments about others commenting on games they haven't played (which can still be reasonable if it's a common theme such as server instability).
-Proceeds to make a grandiose claim about "most garbage servers in the industry" while ignoring the mountain of server-based games that poster himself has never played, and thus missing that SE's are almost a paragon of stability compared to games like Destiny 2.
-Ends with a petty, pathetic personal attack against the person he's quoting.

Yep, here's someone not worth listening to.

Not really anything newsworthy, the exact same thing happens in hardcore Path of Exile and pretty much every single online game with a hardcore mode.

As Shinkuno said, it happens in this game as well. Threads about people who had their solo PotD run ruined by server hickups appear quite regularly.

My static had days where we had to cancel raid nights during Asphodelos because I couldn't even see the boss cast anything before the mechanic went off, despite my ping usually being below 35ms.

It's just more noticeable in aRPGs because at endgame they tend to kill you instantly if you experience even a second of lag.

The servers being garbage is nonsense, they're most likely industry standard.

The issue isn't the hardware but this game's netcode and that isn't really news to anyone who has had to deal with oGCD animation lock and it's nonsensical interaction with latency...or basically anyone who has played pvp before.

I do play other games unlike you and VelKallor that only talk about other games with buzzwords straight from Reddit

Tell me another game in 2023 that needs to queue it logins cause the servers melt if more than 20 people login at the same time. Name another MMO that actively prevents people from entering zones cause bots decided to farm a bit more today.

I agree that the netcode is an issue, stuff like every menu click being verified on the server is just insanity. There shouldnt be any lag when opening the character panel for example. But as i said to the other guy, the servers themselves are "constantly" on fire without any outside influence - no ddos, no major game update, just the servers shitting the bed. Its been better since the 24 hour maintenance for hardware replacement to be fair. But yeah even with top of the line servers the game would still feel like ass to play because "its fine on our japanese 5ms ping /shrug"

That's not the worst. I play frontline everyday. If There are double dk comboing with class like warrior, dragoon, and ast, 6 people is enough to take out 2/3 of an alliance. That is a nightmare That SE needs to address

No amount of high end hardware is going to help if the code running on it is incredibly inefficient. And if CBU3's own statements from like 2 years ago are to be believed then at least their database for player inventory and items certainly is.
