In my opinion, i630 with maxed out substats on both stats is good enough for something that is using 2x 1500 previous Tier tomestones vs. +5 item levels from the Savage Raid. The difference is so miniscule most players asking for the relic to jump from i615 to i635 couldn't even leverage the potential.

I mean you are not wrong.

I you made it this far into the patch without clearing P8S for a 635ilvl weapon, one could argue that the relic is worthless for stats.

Just make them level 1 with no stats.

The actual difference between the Relic and an Abyssos weapon is FOUR in the secondary substat.

For BLM specifically its that 4 SPS substat that changes you from 2.17 to 2.16 GCD.

Well, obviously it should not be just a glamour stick, so that "just make them level 1 with no stats", cynical or not, is moot.

But it is interesting the speed difference between raid weapon and relic weapon is this little, but still substantial for specific tier breakpoints. But yeah, if people really insist on a specific set of stats, the relic still is just a stepping stone and should remain like one.

But giving credit where it is due, only 5 item level under raid weapon is substantially better than the meme they did most expansion relics prior.
