    Living Dead Sucks

First of all i'll say that i'm not a Dark Knight main, but it is my favourite tank since i played its story back in HW and i use it once in a while when i do stuff with my friends..

    /start rant

So.. yesterday we where doing Eureka Orthos and, since my friends all hate to tank, i decided to do it, i even like it from time to time, and i really love DRK.

We get to a mob with four arms, he does "Forearm attack" and all 3 of my friends get obliterated, i am alone against him but i start to lose health like crazy, i popped Living dead and i see soon after that i become "Walking dead".
    I kill him.

I am ESTATICH for a second: it is i think one of the two, three times that i manage to use the tank invulnerability correctly and in a meaningful way in a Decade or more of FF14 (sure, i dont play tank OFTEN, but still...)..

..But soon the ecstasy leaves the place to PANIC. I'll die. I know that i'll die. How much the F*ck does a hyper potion heals? I dunno, i use it.. my hp barely goes up. I immediately target the healer and start "CASTING" a Phoenix Down (f+ck this cast).
The cast goes 1.. 2.. 3.. FOUR!!!!!.. (HOW MUCH THE HELL IS LONG THIS CAST? I checked gamerscape and eorzeadatabase and cant find it)..

    I DIE..

    FUCK

    ME

    /end rant

I would like to ask.. What should have i done? But i know prob the answer would be: played another tank.. But i hate "good boy" paladin, "i have a big dick" warrior or "whatever i am" gunbraker.
I like "i hate everyone" Dark Knight. T_T

So my request... Since they changed Leaving dead to have something like a life steal when in living dead, pls add that when you go out of combat but still not healed to full, you lose the zombie status, cause.. if i can't attack nobody, wth i am suppose to leech? if you want to stay in lore just make up that i heal with my enemy's life

    i'm sad.

Living Dead since 6.1 is one of the best invulns, if anything.

I'm not sure why you were panicing with Walking Dead active, as every weaponskill [Hard Slash, Syphon Strike, Souleater, Bloodspiller, Quietus] and spell [Unmend, Unleash, Stalwart Soul] will heal you for 1500(!!) cure potency per target

You have a minimum of four GCDs (weaponskill or spell) to use for a total of 6000 cure potency, five for 7500 potency if you have a moderate amount of skillspeed and time your actions with the start of the effect. You will live 10/10 times if you keep attacking, unless your HP recovery is lowered from Weakness reducing your Strength for example.

Dying because you suddenly have no targets anymore is a fair trade-off, given all the benefits it has. Granted, the "out of combat" clause COULD be interesting, but it isn't a dealbreaker.

Living Dead is fixed and great, no changes required. Keep playing, you'll get used to it. One nuance of the invuln alone shouldn't deter you from using it in Deep Dungeons.

As i said, the enemy died soon after Walking Dead kicked in..
Sure, maybe mine was a very niche situation, but my point is that WITH EVERY OTHER INVULNS i would have survived ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just noticed that the heal effect, as you said is HUGE (i swear i tought it was 150 pot, not 1500.. i didn't remember a zero >_>).. Maybe i should have attacked an enemy in the near distance and healed myself?

    You know what i hate?

THAT I CANT TRAIN SOMEWHERE... I wanted to try to use it and see on my skin how much it is-- I wish there was more than just training dummies.. but real training situations where train all your skillset..

(for example i wanted to train PVP Gnb skills but i can't junction shit by myself)

It's probably still there to this day but I lost a 199 DRK solo in potd to living dead.

Is what I'd like to say but living dead is great now. I only died because I got absolutely hammered with no item / debuff floors and gambled and lost on 199 debuffs. Was thrust into a lose lose situation with proximity enemies (undead knights). With great power comes great responsibility, or keeling over.

Living Dead is BETTER, but you can still die. Yours is sadly one of the cases where death is still possible with it.

You know there is an NPC outside that sells regen pots exclusively for each Deep Dungeon respectively, so while it won't get you all the way to full, it will definitely take a chunk of the burden off.

But yea, using inexperience as a basis for your argument is a pretty weak foundation. You can practice using Living Dead in the overworld by pulling a bunch of mobs, final EW zone for example, let you're health get low, pop Living Dead, effect triggers, then get yourself out of Walking Dead, ez practice.

Better yet - ask your friend to be a specific role -> Draw & Junction -> run out -> have fun on a striking dummy.

Re-using Draw & Junction on a striking dummy grants you the cartridge without losing the Junction.
