    Upgrading Submersible Parts

    Hi,

Some guild members left after upgrading or changing out some submersible parts. I have a Shark-class Bridge on a submersible for example, and I want to upgrade it to a Modified version. But, I can't remove it without another part.

I don't have any other parts, so I have to MAKE ANOTHER ONE or buy one on the MB just so I can exchange it for a frame to upgrade it? How does this make any sense? I don't want to dismantle it and lose its level.

Why can we not "dock" a ship to essentially remove/upgrade existing parts? Am I missing something here?

Probably because at the time the system was created for Stormblood, parts could not be upgraded. To upgrade required a switch to an entirely new part type. It was Shadowbringers when the modified parts were added instead of continuing to create new part types.

FCs are generally swimming in extra parts to swap around as needed, including situations like this.

Could SE add the docking feature you suggest? I have no idea. Even if they can, it wouldn't be something we would see implemented for a long time.

I do know that Shark parts are very cheap to make compared to the rest. Making another one shouldn't be a big deal.
