I want to chime in on this as I don't believe this requires another topic regarding this subject since it is still kind of a relevant issue.

I think we need to investigate what exactly is going here because this has been going on for years now, something needs to be changed. I think the last time there was ever any interaction was regarding player hair I recall? After that radio silence.

At this point this is becoming a toxic relationship between the playerbase on this forum vs the Developers.

There is no relationship on this forum between the player base and the developers, other than both players and developers of the game exist.

The forums are a place for official announcements (you know, in that section marked INFORMATION in the English forums), technical support (in that section marked TECHNICAL SUPPORT in the English forums), bug reports (in that section marked BUG REPORTS in the English forums), letters from the producer (in that section ... yada yada).

It is also a place for players to discuss the game with other players. The "sticky post" for this part of the forum (and most of the other non-SE sections) reads "The purpose of this forum is for players to discuss various topics on FINAL FANTASY XIV with other players." Likewise, the Lore section sticky reads "The purpose of this forum is for players to discuss various topics on the lore of Eorzea with other players."

None of these sections is billed as a place for players to communicate directly with the developers. Nor is there a promise, implied or otherwise, that developers or other SE personnel will read the posts for anything except determining if things are civil and in-bounds. They appear to look at reports about particular thread posts and act accordingly, hence threads or posts or posters disappearing.

Being passive aggressive with that last bit doesn't help with your post, and your other post comes off as slightly racist assuming all North Americans think the same way.

If that was not your intention then might want to rethink how you make your posts.

What, specifically, do you find "slightly racist" about recognizing that "the assertion a company cannot be successful unless it is global in reach" is typical of the economic thought of North Americans? Indeed, what race do you consider North Americans to be? (Hint: There is no North American race.) A number of people bandy that word around without giving thought to what it means. Please do not be one of those people.

Serious question...

There has always been a stigma about NA forums falling on deaf ears with the devs. So i ask once and for all....when it comes to feedback and how engaged the devs are with NA forums, is there any real reason why we have accepted being alienated and ok with the devs not being engaged with us? Why is our money/opinions not as important if we are also paying customers?

Look at the state of this forum and ask yourself: is it any wonder that nobody wants to engage with you?

They just need more engagement with the community team, and for them to pass feedback on in a cordial manner, without the added nonsense that some are inclined to add.

For better or worse, with communities like the one our forum has... Direct communication from and with the developers is a very silly idea.

There is no relationship in America between the citizens and the government, other than both citizens and government exist.

The Constitution does not bill America as a place for innovation, growth, access to healthcare, stability. Nor is there a promise, implied or otherwise in the Constitution, that the President or any other government personell will engage with citizens for anything except determining if they have committed crimes.

Yea, I know. I think I'll take the good advice to just start using the forum ignore feature. The trick will be catching all of the alts.
