But...why keep yourself unhappy like this. Do you know other MMOs such as ESO have much better housing systems than FFXIV? Where you can actually take a break for as long as you want without fear of losing your virtual house (ok Im actually being serious here)

I can agree with this, but at the same time I can't help but feel there is a disconnect between reality and perception when it comes to the vocally displeased oprtion of the player-base. What I mean by this is that many of the people critical of the game don't hate it. They don't want to quit. They simply want to see more of what it used to be and less of what it's becoming. There's definitely some sunken time/cost fallacy going on as well. After all, a lot of us have been here for a very long time. The exploitative housing system is just one component.

Don't worry, people like you will be here long after people like me have moved on.

Joke's on you. I'm only still around until my sub finally runs out. If I could've refunded my remaining time, I would have. Since I can't, I'm trying to get as close to my money's worth as possible.

On this we completely agree. Well, the wanting to get your moneys worth part no, it's just not worth it imo. Single months though, that's all I do. Mine is up soon as well, and I'll be moving on for a few months.

I feel like that Louis CK skit ( is it okay to talk about him again yet or is he still cancelled?) where he talks about how amazing it is that we can sit in a metal tube in the sky with wifi and still be uhappy. Everything is amazing and people are still unhappy. Im happy.
