I almost never post in the forums, but this issue has me tilted off the face of the planet. To preface this: I don't mind dying and having to start over due to carelessness on my part, but the first 20 floors feel awful to get through if I'm already being punished by losing hours of progress.
You don't have your full kit, so your damage is heavily neutered depending on your class. Since you do less damage adds take long as hell to clear. Most 20+ floors I'm done with the boss with about 15-19 minutes to spare. floors 10 and 20, I'm finishing with 9 to less than 5. They just have way too much HP for your kit and pomander stock (none at the beginning).
There's also the issue of respawn rates. I've spent almost 10 minutes in one room alone trying to clear out patrols and the 3 original enemies in them. Respawn rates are 1 minute in the first 30 floors, and after that it's around 30 minutes for respawn. So you can get trapped in a single room just trying to clear out mobs because they're spawning in as fast as you kill them. Just set it to like 5-10 minutes or just standardize it at 30. Makes no sense to me why it's like this.
You can also just get horrible RNG on lower floors sometimes. I just had one on floor 6 where I barely had any pomanders, got stuck in between two rooms, one was a dead end with 3 behemoths, the other room had a dreadbeast in it, it was also a no ability floor, so my already low damage is effectively halved. So I can't escape the meteor from the behemoth since there's one in the hall casting it, and 2 more behind me, a dread beast on the other side, and my dps is forcibly cut too low to be able to just kill it before it casts. Admittedly, this is bad RNG that can exist in any of the 3 deep dungeons.
I'm a fan of the more lethal adds even on low floors, but if it means I'm going to be starting over from floor 1 over and over, please either nerf the adds HP, reduce the Aetherpool sync down, or give us a full kit, SOMETHING, because it feels awful having to do those 20 floors each time. Even in a group.
