contrary to popular belief apparent in this thread, there's different kinds of paralysis/stuns that despite sharing the same icon aren't actually the same 'ability'/debuff so to say. it's the same with poison and other debuffs. i'm not sure why they did it the way they did but my supposition is that instead of reusing the debuff that already exists, whoever was making those actions used by enemies decided to just re-make them OR they're all so similar that the wrong debuff is occasionally chosen which isn't affected by the potion meant to cure you of that status.

Different enemies have a different classification of paralysis. Some are removeable, hinted by the line above it. Some can't be removed at all, like in some raid/dungeon fights.

If it DID have a line on it and it didn't get removed, then it's either being interrupted by the paralysis (There's a kind that ticks every 3 seconds, and some that are just random with huge gaps between stun ticks), or they thought there was a line above it and it didn't remove it.

I keep a full stack of 999 on me of both spine and echo drops when I go into any deep dungeon. They've saved my arse a ton, when I can remove it that is.

no, you don't get it. it's more than that.

there are multiple types of the same skill that do the same thing but -aren't- the same. this is apparent when you see certain NPCs cast certain abilities in job-quest based instances such as cure. it's not the real cure that we use but an altered form.

They still work, you were paralyzed and the action was probably interrupted by it.

Sorry if this has been pointed out by a lot of other people.

There seem to be some paralysis effects that are not removed by spine drops despite having the esuna icon on them. Want a quick example? First pull of Antitower. Here, I recorded it twice, once with esuna successfully removing the debuff afterward.

Please note the potions go on CD. This wouldn't happen if the action was interrupted. Nor would you get floating text about it doing nothing.
Here, combat log too. Feel free to go hop in there yourself and try it. I only discovered this one due to tank runs of it during SHB relic stuff.

Antitower is the only one I have encountered that has done this, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear there are others out there.

The Cure but isn't Cure is normally used by people who can't use aether.

That's really interesting. I wonder if this flavor is left over from before we had the white line. That got added to show what could be cleansed with cleansing abilities, but maybe they missed some for items.

I did also notice when I looked up spine drops to check the item text what it says

"This alchemically crafted restorative instantly cures most instances of paralysis."

But this does almost seem like a bug or at least something that should be visually indicated with a different icon.

The spine drops did not work with the basilisk thingies in the new Deep Dungeon. I tried, and yes, the usage was not interrupted. Likewise I have tried antidotes on various poisons specifically labelled as Poison and not have them removed, though Esuna would work. Wonder if they should just retire these items... only one that inspires awe is Echo Drops, since it can save your party's bacon in Duty Finder.

Easily replicated, for those that do not believe it was anything other than user error.

Sounds like the Paralysis in Eureka Orthos is not included in "most". Only the developers could say for certain whether it is intended or an oversight but I suspect it's probably intended.
