Disk Spiking to 100% at random moments

So, I’ve been experiencing some random moments in the game where my disk suddenly goes to 100% and then goes back to normal.
Usually happens after a teleport, or at the start of a trial fight, but can happen in the middle of battle.

This don't happen all at the same time, but the most common one is the teleport loadings, which takes a really long time to load, and then it locks up certain functions like combat animations, and movements (it's like I am sliding), HUD interactions, sound disappearing and etc.

The weird thing is that it only happens when playing FFXIV, no other game has made this happen. I already tried to clean some stuff in the computer, and even restore some functions of my SSD like the command "chkdsk" /f and /r.

The only application that is usually running all the time is Steam and Discord.

I'm very sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this kind of issue with the disk usage spike. Aside from the steps mentioned, have you tried any other troubleshooting to try and resolve this issue? I'd also like to ask if it would be possible to request if you could you provide a system report? You may do this by going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.' and copy and paste the information there into a reply here.

I would like to recommend giving these troubleshooting steps a try as they may help with the crashing that you've been experiencing:

- Reinstall your graphics card drivers (preferably a clean install)
- Manually update the sound driver if available/possible as it does appear to still be using a 2022 driver. (If this is the latest driver then you may ignore this)
- Update your Windows OS. Make sure to install any optional updates that you might have available.
- Disable any programs/overlays running in the background (Including Discord and Steam IF the game is not launching through Steam)
- Make sure that any anti-virus/firewall programs on your PC are either temporarily disabled or has the appropriate exceptions made for Final Fantasy XIV when patching or re-installing to ensure no files get blocked and become corrupted.
- Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.

This issue has been reported in other threads and we were told to make a post in the "In-Game Bugs" section. I've done so and it was innately moved to the "Accepted Bug" section and a few hours later has now been moved to the "Not a Bug Report" section. I'd love to get some clarification upon this. In addition, why hasn't this thread faced the same treatment as threads prior in being locked and moved if it isn't suited for this section? What exactly is it then if it isn't meant to be in Technical Support but also not an in-game bug after being directed there. Literally any sort of communication would be stellar.

EDIT: I've since logged in and saw the response to my ticket. It stated to contact the Support Center, separate from this forum... We'll see how it goes.

I tried every step above and none seems to work, still the same thing. I remember having this issue a long time ago in 2013, but at that time I was with another PC, and I thought it was a low-spec thing, but with the current configuration it seems to be something else.

I don't know what happen there for them to move your thread to another section, that was weird, but Solarance, if you reach some solution, please contact me some way or in this post.
