is the "buy for friend" function disabled in the online store, or is it time for a support forum visit for me?

I can't get it to work. I thought I'd ask here first before I went searching through the support forum posts.

It's been disabled and I'm not sure if there is word of it ever coming back. I remember a reason being given but can't remember what that reason was.

There are still a few items on the online store that you can buy for friends but the option has been disabled for most items due to abuse by scammers using fraudulent/stolen payment information.

I don't think SE will make any changes because of the problems that were being caused.

Noticed that most items on the cheaper side don't have the Gift option available. Things like minions and emotes for instance. You can still gift attires and mounts.

You can thank RMTs, as many people were abusing "Buy for friend" to pay real money for in-game content in exchange for service, housing, PL Savage/Ultimate.
