The lack of gil sinks

Gil is pretty worthless. I like to make a ton and then give it all away so newer people can buy some glam.

The first part is factually correct in every way possible.

Nothing in the game, other than ~6 mounts requires GIL.

I have all four 50m mounts and a 25m mount and still have 1.4b gil to spend, what normally happens is i just fund my raid statics gear every tier, then just make it all back in the downtime passively.

I didn't buy the mounts but I did use the gil to level all my crafters/gatherers from 1 to 90 by buying other peoples HQ items and then GC turn it in.

It's not, actually. It just loses personal value the more of it you have, and that's why you give it away.

I love my gold gorilla mount. My only complaint is no unique action for it. I only one I dont like is the sheep one. I refuse to even buy it.

I'm not a veteran of this game by any standards and am rapidly running out of Gil sinks. Got lucky with a Mansion win, went insane. Built a personal Sub fleet. Bought many collector stuff. As for stuff I like actually wanted I'm pretty much done. Point being is, I can only imagine the boredom the mega rich Vets suffer.

I suggest a 500m Mount or housing furnishing that allows marketboard access. Pointless but I'll buy it day 1.

Also, I've said this before... I'll pay up to 500m for a Wind-Up Terra Branford minion. Not even kidding.

Currency sinks in any game tends to make you constantly grind to keep progressing but in this game you dont need to use gil to get gear at endgame (unless you do week 1 raiding) and even then it kinda just stops there for all of 8 months. Any other gil sink is completely optional.

If gil was worth something then we'd be drowning in even -more- RMT bots. It's why most stuff needs tomestones or some random item like the eureka crystals etc.

There's something that would be a very effective gil sink that I would love to see them add to the game.

Create cosmetic dyeable versions of popular role specific gear models so players could then use those models with other jobs. Place each item on a vendor for something like 20-25k gil each. I know that amount doesn't sound like much to many of us but it will add up as players buy more and more over time. It also leaves those things affordable to new players just starting out that haven't had time to acquire millions of gil so they can have a few special pieces.

In the case of items that tend to get associated with a player's MSQ progression or end game progression, there could be an achievement unlock attached to unlocking the item for purchase on the vendors. As an example, models that are first seen in the Stormblood MSQ could required completion of the Stormblood achievement.

It would also be slightly helpful when it comes to storing items in glamour dressers as players who have multiple versions of the same model so they can use it with multiple jobs would only need to have the one version instead of 2-7.

Alright, how the hell do you guys make passive income in the amounts of billions? I make millions by crafting but it definitely takes a lot of my time where I could be doing something else in game.
