    The lack of gil sinks

I decided to give my 2 cents about what I believe would help with the content droughts we have between patches.

This game severely lacks gil sinks. Everything other than the ugly golden mounts (that don't have a lot of appeal as far as I know) is rather easy to buy. It is also easy to sit on a mountain of gil if you're not burning everything on food and potions for savage week 1, which most of the playerbase isn't doing anyway. My personal experience is that while I enjoy crafting, gathering and selling stuff, I have no incentive to do so because I have a steady stream of gil from my FC and have no interest of gaining more gil just for the sake of watching the number go up. I bought everything I wanted for my main and my alts and other than buying furniture for decoration there's nothing left.

I believe this could be fixed with the addition of apartment upgrades(500k->2m->15m->35m for example), adding more craftable glamour per patch(preferably some that can be gathered and crafted from scratch and some using dropped materials from treasure maps and savage raids), silly buyable titles, more dyes, and more tradeable Modern Aesthetics(both facepaint and hairs).
Allowing mogstation items to be bought by gil, preferably costing exorbitant non fixed amounts to avoid gil buying, could also be a good option (this can be done by checking how much the rates for buying currency are and picking a gil cost that would end up as significantly more than straight up buying from Mogstation)

Another related issue is that XIV needs to work harder on bot culling. Bots sink the prices of crafted goods and gathered items, which hurts the gil issue we have today(everything is too cheap) and would make earning the larger amounts of gil needed with the addition of said gil sinks infuriating and frustrating for players.

I understand that this game seems to have a philosophy of not forcing grinds and not making most things too hard to attain, but I believe such changes would bring way more good than harm while using less resources than something like Island Sanctuary.

Housing savage and Extreme Raid Progression are 666% effective gold sinks. And doubt bots craft 620 gear. More like existing players automate macro loops to craft stuff :P

It has a lot of gil sinks. It's just that one of the major ones (housing) isn't completely accessible and readily available to everyone (but it should be), and the ones that are, are just recolors of mounts already in the game. If someone is paying upwards of 25-50 mil for a mount, I think it should be entirely unique.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

Housing isn't enough of a sink IMO. It's 50m at most that you pay once(if you're lucky enough to win its lottery, that is). There's plenty of players who have that amount of gil without even trying.
    I agree about the mounts.

As a player who doesn’t craft but raids, crafted gear on patch week and pots and food are plenty of a Gil sink to me. I would love to get to the point where I have disposable Gil to throw at all the raid gear, glam items, and housing items I want. You won the ffxiv congrats! Like real world capitalism you reach a point where you have too much money to spend

You will find it difficult to get an effective Gil sink, frankly.

I think that 25-75M mounts are enough, and with the frequency that they give them, there will always be a problem of... People who farm Gil will always farm said Gil, faster than what is possible to develop adequate assets to address. Similarly, there are still folk in the game with an absurd amount of Gil, to the point that these forms don't even tickle.

This posits the question... What level of player are you aiming at with this?

Everyone. I believe that having more hard to attain stuff for people who don't engage much in high end combat would be a good thing. Something to work for.

I suppose you also doubt that there are bot run map parties etc.

there are bot crafting rings, bots have no problem crafting 620 gear. at most, take a couple days after release for them to catch up and craft it.
