Machinist vs Summoner vs Red Mage vs Reaper

Which class requires the less amount of brainpower, combos, and/or mandatory specific burst windows?

And which is easier to hardest?

All these classes are the only DPS to be top tier at all the Deep Dungeons (excluding Rper, only top tier at POTD)

So I'm like, if I can main one of these, I'll pretty much be set for all content I like, and learn it for things other content (like endgame, savage, etc). So as a person who loves Dancer, yet its mid in deep dungeons and PVP, I'm at a crossroads, while also feeling iffy about Machinist due to having to think for proper burst windows which can be screwed over by ping or a small mistake in the rotation.

SMN is pretty much spamming 2 buttons, there's a reason why people comapred it to a healer's dps rotation, though I'm not sure how good (or bad?) it is in the self sustain department, RDM is probably better there

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

easiest is summoner, hardest would be machinist if you play it correctly and use all your abilities (its a very busy class, from hotshot to drill to gauss rounds to richochet to heat blast you always got something thats off cooldown and somethin else thats about to come off cooldown)

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

    Machinist.

As popular as it is to hate on summoner. It has cast times, a (non-optional) ground-target effect, and melee attacks. You have to plan where you're going to put those casts and melees, and potentially adjust your rotation based on the boss's movements, or take a DPS loss.

Machinist has none of these restrictions.

How new are you to MMOs and keyboard or controller? Cuzz everyone likes to call summoner easy because really small amount of buttons which is a benefit on controller, However to brand new players caster classes can be hard, you have to plan your movement out to really move as little as possible to increase casting uptime & you have to utilize slide casting and generally people that have never played a MMO struggle understanding these concepts early and their DPS can suffer from it. Frankly for somebody that's brand new and never done any MMO I would suggest dancer or Machinist.

SMN only has 3 actions in its entire rotation that have casting times, which can be cut down to 2 with swift cast. SMN has similar freedom of movement to ranged physical DPS at this point and even SAM has more casting time in its rotation than SMN does now.

SMN’s rotation is also much easier to figure out than the other casters because the buttons change into the spells you’ll be using for that stance and your bar lights up with what to do next.

Lol smn pretty much has close to ranged physical level of mobility. Easy rotation that requires one to go out of their way to screw it up. Fairly forgiving to recover from after dying.

    My vote goes towards smn.

"Tell me you don't play summoner without telling me you don't play summoner".

Yeah, it's not a huge number but it's more than that. But uh, best not to let facts get in the way of the forum's hate rituals for SMN, I guess.

Anyways, so. MCH. No melees, no casts, completely static rotation that has you just pushing the same sequence buttons over and over again.

Now, MCH's APM may be a little on the high side for a new player looking for an easy start. So there's dancer which has the same freedoms and lower APM. The tradeoff being you have to watch the hotbars for procs.
