But how though? The art director and composer isnt in charge for creating and programming the actual gameplay content for FFXIV. It wasnt Soken's fault for why Variant and Criterion dungeons lacked substantial rewards, it wasnt the art director for why Island Sanctuary wasnt better implemented at launch, it wasnt the writing team for why the relic grind is lackluster. It just seemed like you waved it off like it didn't matter. But I understand it wasn't your intention.
The point I was trying to make was that they are indeed taking people, and quite frankly those people are probably really good key players that have made a difference in XIV. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been taken out for arguably the most important project at SE right now. Whether they are truly the missing links or not I guarantee you that they were whisked away to the big new shiny project because they produce extremely high quality results.
Nobody borrows people that don't make differences for their most important release in years.
I'll give you an example:
How do we know the art director wasn't absent when they conceptualized the art for the Variant dungeon rewards? and so someone else said eh looks fine to me, and they just went ahead with the noir stuff and a mount and now Variant dungeons are dead? We don't know right, but its plausible enough.
Maybe if he was present he would have said, you know that's kinda lack luster why don't we conceptualize some more art assets that you can code into the game so people run these all the time? This is complete speculation, but if true, then variants would've been a lot more succesful and we would have more glams/rewards in game in general.
You are blaming the wrong people for this.
At this point I feel like the community is trying to play a Wha Happun episode for EW's content (nothing against Matt and his show, I love it) but without doing any of the actual research or proof for it.
So far what little we know about the FFXVI dev team isnt enough evidence this is being the case besides Yoshida taking the helm for two projects simultaneously, and even then we still have no clue how specifically that entails for the two teams.
"Video game art directors play a key role in every stage of the creation of a video game, from formulating concepts to supervising production. They work with 2D and 3D artists, animators, modelers, and other artistic staff to coordinate all the visual images used in a game. Video game art directors supervise both in-house and off-site staff, handle management issues, and oversee the entire artistic production process."But how though? So the above is just a general purview of googling art directors. Now, Coders are usually not also designers in gaming companies, they just code things into the game. So therefore, if the art director is responsible for overseeing the glam designs that rewards will have, then the coder will take those designs and turn them into objects in game, using their designs as guidance.
So that's how if he was absent maybe not enough rewards were created for variant dungeons or the rewards themselves could be lackluster because the person at the top may have just let it slide.
absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You haven't done any of the actual research or proof to establish that Yoshida taking the helm for two projects simultaneously wouldn't have an impact on FFXIV either. I can tell you however that using common sense it's logical to think that it has.At this point I feel like the community is trying to play a Wha Happun episode for EW's content (nothing against Matt and his show, I love it) but without doing any of the actual research or proof for it.

When you work, and they ask you to do two things at the same time, do you think you will be able to get them done as quickly and efficiently as another person tasked with only one of your chores? In this case the onus on proving it doesn't would be on the person with the two tasks, because its more likely that their performance will be affected by common sense alone.
So in fact you dont know, nor does anyone else on who went where, so the claim "they took staff away from FF 14" is actually pure speculation. It's common sense, Yoshi and SE need XVI to be a success and SE is obviously resource sharing because as a business they need to minimize costs and maximize value.
It looks like to me they are selling 16 off the key figure that working on it and since 14 has gain some main stream popularity square is using that to get people to buy it. To me that show how much they really care about the development of 14 that it just really another game that help them keep the lights on so they feel they don't have to put to much development into it.They also pulled the Art director from XIV, and Sokken, and probably less prominent devs they didn't mention but this last one is speculation. Also, if you confirm they pulled the HW team its obvious there's enough crossover here to imply they will borrow whatever they need to. It's common sense, Yoshi and SE need XVI to be a success and SE is obviously resource sharing because as a business they need to minimize costs and maximize value.
Those are mentioned under Core Development team.

Actually us complaining about this specifically will only drive them to be more undercover and less willing to share information with us, so I think its more productive to focus on just there not being enough engaging content per patch cycle and that the cycles feel too repetitive.
Variant dungeons failed for a very dumb reason, there was nothing too wrong with the content, its just noone designed appealing rewards to repeat it... That's legit it. Extremely sad because a lot of effort when into that just to flop the last detail, which development wise couldn't have been harder to implement than the whole variant system.... Just some nice looking rewards..... But to the player it's obvious these dictate whether the content is worth doing or not. The rate of players doing it all but confirms it.
To be honest this is probably the only stance I can sorta agree on with him spreading himself too thin between FFXIV and FFXVI. But it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual staff involved or the lack of manpower here. Like I said none of the actual developers transferred to XVI wouldve had an impact given the current state of content in FFXIV. Its only speculation.absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You haven't done any of the actual research or proof to establish that Yoshida taking the helm for two projects simultaneously wouldn't have an impact on FFXIV either. The only person we can assume thats being affected is Yoshida himself as he is the director for both. But thats as far as Im willing to go with the speculation.
