The point I was trying to make was that they are indeed taking people, and quite frankly those people are probably really good key players that have made a difference in XIV. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been taken out for arguably the most important project at SE right now. Whether they are truly the missing links or not I guarantee you that they were whisked away to the big new shiny project because they produce extremely high quality results.

Nobody borrows people that don't make differences for their most important release in years.

I'll give you an example:

How do we know the art director wasn't absent when they conceptualized the art for the Variant dungeon rewards? and so someone else said eh looks fine to me, and they just went ahead with the noir stuff and a mount and now Variant dungeons are dead? We don't know right, but its plausible enough.

Maybe if he was present he would have said, you know that's kinda lack luster why don't we conceptualize some more art assets that you can code into the game so people run these all the time? This is complete speculation, but if true, then variants would've been a lot more succesful and we would have more glams/rewards in game in general.
But how though? The art director and composer isnt in charge for creating and programming the actual gameplay content for FFXIV. It wasnt Soken's fault for why Variant and Criterion dungeons lacked substantial rewards, it wasnt the art director for why Island Sanctuary wasnt better implemented at launch, it wasnt the writing team for why the relic grind is lackluster.

You are blaming the wrong people for this.
