Except eureka and Bozja aren’t even close to dead right now and are more active than both criterion and any of the old deep dungeons

The endless horizontal progression and monetary opportunities in them both keeps them running well, they are doing better than any content in the roulettes that’s not crystal tower or prae

And yet, if someone recently quits, they still retain the ability to post until such right is taken away due to having not logged in for a period of time. So if, in fact, he did quit, and he's still within a certain time frame of his most recent log in, he'd still be able to post.
It does not render his quitting invalid (though for how long remains to be seen, and even if it's not "forever" still doesn't render the loss of interest as invalidated), although I guess it's probably as good of a "gotcha" moment as you're going to get on him, if that's all you're looking for. I suppose it's all about the little victories when there's not much else to strive for in this social mmo experience called Final Fantasy XIV.

I have to laugh at comments like these. gotcha moments? He said he quit the game and it's been the best decision he ever made. That 's not simply a "i haven't played for the last week and I'm loving it", it implies a long term "life has been great without FFXIV!!"

I'm one of those dreaded 'sub for a month, play the content, and stop subbing for 5 months' players. do you know WHY I stop subbing? Because I have my fun, and move on when I STOP HAVING FUN. That's why I find these "I QUIT" (no they haven't) posts so silly. If you're so desperate to be rid of the game, just STOP PLAYING. Why on earth would I pay for something for months while I despise it? Why would YOU?

Criterion didn't really have much to offer, which is why I never bothered running it more than once. I would argue that it still has potential, but SE has a nasty habit of letting random pieces of content die. I can appreciate running something just for fun, but in an MMO, time is money, and money is pizza. If I'm not getting any "pizza", I'm probably not gonna take part in something.

Unplayable yeah right. It's a minor annoyance at best in one or two dungeons and fixed by pulling your camera in closer. The cast bar argument sounds like skill issue.

and when zoomed in you can't see anything except 10,000 cast bars. it's not fun

I mean this has nothing to do with OCE being a small server, you always have to expect that a smaller growing data centre is going to have trouble running older content , but it’s not like something like aether struggles with eureka and Bozja in the slightest and materia is growing albeit slowly

You will forgive me for being cynical, but I am seeing a lot of players who have left Materia, utterly fed up to the back teeth with that 2hr window ( NEWSFLASH people play at all hours and want to get stuff done then, not hours later ), the MB is to put it bluntly, usuriously expensive because you have zero or close to zero crafters.

Whether you realise it or not, Materia is slowly losing players. Until SE can

1. Get SEA onboard

2. Work on attaining critical mass , encouraging people to xfer MAINS, not roll new alts...

.......Materia is a failure.

When I want to run a dungeon I want to run it soon...not wait till 6pm - 8pm and then have to wait for the following day.

Yes your anecdote on people leaving materia is definitely evidence, let’s just ignore the lucky surveys done almost every single patch you are totally correct here

This isn’t to say square should put more effort into making materia better but you are just talking out of your ass here

It’s not all creativity and calm to make up for the lack of numbers, however. Some members of the community have been incredibly vocal about the lack of local players. Some have decided to go back to their original data shards, and others have refused to move in the first place.

I am on Kujata and I am seeing people coming back from OCE every single day. You may call it anecdotal, I was on Zurvan and Ravana...so yes I do know.

People refused to leave their servers, their houses, their FCs, their statics, their friends. Until such time as SE can get SEA aboard, can arrange regional data centre travel, OCE will remain isolated..with all the problems that come with it.

Anecdotal means presenting your personal experiences as fact not me accusing you of lying, the lucky surveys constantly show materia is stable in lulls and growing in active patch times
