People are complaing about 1500 tomes for this one... But idk how running Alliance Raids ad nauseum, or mindless spamming fates with 10% drop rates of something would be any better.

The only way I can see a relic grind being actually good is how Stormblood had it. Eureka was the best relic grind... because it was content designed WITH that in mind..

I don't see a long time investment in a zone like Eureka bad for a relic weapon, simply because they aren't BIS until the tail end of the expansion, where it doesn't really matter anymore.

Honestly for this step they should have brought the books back,
cost about 500-1000 poetics/current tome
complete all 4 get your relic but contents of said books are based on expansion
ARR,HW,SB,SHB.
No fates or hunting log stuff its just MSQ trials and Dungeons so HW book is Arf,xelph,Theordon nidhogg etc etc to not just make it easier for new people to get into these duties but considering EW is the climax of the story as a recollection of what we've been through.


Story line for this relic is ok but I don't think it was the right time to use Hildibrand.

I don't mind the "new" relic step, but I'd be lying if I said the acquisition method isn't kinda underwhelming.

What makes a relic a relic?
I guess it's kinda 3 things.

1. The look.
2. The stats. (when the relic belongs to current dlc)
3. We have to do something to get it. The feel of reward. Memorilizable.

So I think it's okay to make the 1st step with tomestones. That's just the base for the relic.
Each further step should guarantee that you have to do something to improve this weapon.

And here is the problem. To make the 2nd step also tomestones does not guarantee that you have to do something relic related.
A lot of people already have enough tomestones to get the 2nd step right after the quest, without doing anything.

Maybe they could have made some kind of books like in ARR. Just NOT such many!!! xD
But, that at least everyone has to do something to improve the relic. :3

Make all EW relic steps chill... but then.

- If you have a finished relic from some other expansion for given job you unlock one extra cool appearance for the EW relic - for each other relic you have
- if you have all relics for given job you unlock yet another and more flashy appearance for the EW relic
- if you have all relics for every job you unlock super awesone relic appearance for every job and the title "The Grinder"
- if you have all relics for every job and you unlocked kettle nexus you also get lalafellin lifter nexus as well as a set of kettle-level-goofy weapon appearances for each job and the title "I am the grind".
