    I wouldn't mind a grind for the Relic, but I would very much like for the grind to be a quantifiable one.


    If they want us to do FATEs, do it like ShB one where you had to go do a total of 60 FATEs in HW areas, rather than the older Relics where you had to farm Atma's with such a low drop chance that people started having conspiracy theories about how their drop rates worked.

    Any items that need to be bought, should be from the slightly more obsolete currencies... GC Seals, Poetics, past expansion's Tribal currencies etc. No need to tie crafters to the Relics as they have their own ones nowadays.

    As little content that exists primarily for the relic as possible, as when the next expansion rolls out it very quickly becomes somewhat abandoned by Square and the playerbase. Future-proofing is important.

    Would be actually hilarious... No one does variant/criterion dungeons because SE didn't add any rewards or reason to do them. SE uses that as the reason to not add a reward or reason to run variant/criterion dungeons.

    Literally no one is going to agree on how the relic weapon grind can be set up. Everyone's a bit picky when it comes to it.

    We can all agree that the idea of just throwing tomestones at it is wrong, but you're absolutely not going to get people to agree on anything else.

    This is best strat. At start of expac chara submit the relic plan on forum. Dev release different relic plan for each chara as the individual posting. We give all the example.

    Plan: OK. Relic is Ultimate Weapon.


    Ex2: I want the grind that taking the time and effort to win the weapon but is the mildcore.

    Plan: OK. Relic is Savage Weapon.

    Ex5: I make the new tread for the blog rant. I want the hard grind like the old expac. Back in day famous expac Heavenswart: the Game of the Thrones it having the real dark fantasy masculine relic and all the chara had love the fated light farm and no chara ever complaining. Game it is so easy now and it is go down the hill and Yoshi island is not listen there is no reason to play. They taking away hard skill like the cleric stand and the kaiten and the dot and bring the housing lottery RNG and now job it lose all the brain. All resource of the 14 it go into fail game. Did you hearing the NFT lmao? The WoW game it is better to shill Blizzard is pay the big dollar for it.

    Plan: OK. Relic is the Forum Weapon. Is new weapon where power it is go up with the post count and the meme. Can not be used in the game but do not play game so is OK.

    I think Bozja was the closest to what I wouldve liked for relic.
    1) Start off earlier in patch cycle and preferably on mid even patches, think mid odd patches for relic are just too late to be useful as an actual weapon...
    2) Not tied to specific content, but rather having several options for each step, like what we got for some Bozja relic
    3)Skipping/reducing steps after completing once and using previous relic to skip a step

    Are you out of your mind?? The last thing I EVER want to see is another book relic like in ARR. It way, WAY too long and boring. I liked the stat distribution though.
    I'd rather take Eureka/Bozja back. Or 'some' grind followed by having to kill a boss monster (the good part of the ARR relic grind).

    If Relics are supposed to rival or surpass raid weapons they should put in the work. Theirs two version to this, with a zone dedicated to them and without.

    With:
    Bozja wasn’t bad, it got bad when the relic started to focus less on the zone and more on being a repetitive mess IE spamming a 24 man raid 100 times. Eureka being a homage to classic Mmo themes it was doomed to fail as ff14 doesn’t fit in with these sensibilities/ wasn’t designed for it. The zones in question in order for them to work MUST play at the games Strengths, and if theirs not enough room to go off of, invent one. The game excels in instances fights and sadly not much else due to how the kits work unless they do a PvP situation where each job drastically gets a reduced, never-mind, condensed kit. For the zone in question it needs lasting appeal such as reasons to do it outside of the weapon. Mounts, cool looking glam, emotes, minions, rare furnishings, bardings, titles, portrait spoils, even EXP and viable poetic farming. Both Eureka and Bozja have said lasting appeal so that’s not the issue. The biggest obstacle is figuring out; how to make it fun to play? Harder to answer when no content in the game is played for fun, it’s played for reward. Honestly Bozja was the closest to a fun zone The fates were fun, the instance fates were also fun, and the little raid at the end was cool. Just needs more dynamic map design maybe incorporate flight, have like a smaller scale instance 8man dungeon of some kind that goes off frequently enough to not be a lottery. And most importantly, never have the relic step LEAVE the zone!

    Without: the benefits of a zone-less relic is that it can be a solo experience and you don’t have to rely on anyone. However it’s miles harder to make fun as however you slice it, it’s vastly inferior to the exploration content. No loot, no goodies, and no way to make it fun as the cream of the crop here is doing reruns like a lesser WT type of deal or light farming. If that’s all that it offers it needs to be flexible and broad. Have leveling roulette give you relic essentials, maybe double it if you play on Minilv or unreal, have you do fates in EW areas, have the relic essentials be purchasable from beast tribes or by tomes. Can’t really muster much up from this honestly

    I know it isn't feasible in this game(grind for them was ATROCIOUS) but there was something truly magical and special about ffxi relic weapons. From the exclusive moves,hidden effects, and beautiful aesthetics..../chefskiss

    Though I know many people were complaining about the relic weapons this time I can say I have no expectation this is my first one I've ever upgraded but if I was designing something where a weapon increased power it would probably go stage one just tomes is fine

    Stage 2 750 tomes kind of like as a payment to start the weapon grind

    Have your blacksmith or whatever come up be like I can make this weapon stronger but I need some stuff gives you list like idk 10-15 kill boss fates he needs a part of the monster to use in the upgrade. Then once you get them say he needs aether from slain strong monsters (lvl 90 dungeons) probably 10 of those return him shocked it's not enough says he needs stronger (expert dungeons 5) then him go great that's just enough. Something that you don't have to grind hardcore but something that can be completed casually in about 2 weeks. Idk rest like I said 1st relic weapon but if we keep this and keep having to upgrade it prob go for

    Stage 3 750 tomes and something from deep dungeon + fates again + expert dungeons

    Stage 4 750 tomes and something from Fates, maybe bit of casual pvp, expert dungeon and something from crafters like a potion and certain gemstone high quality

    Stage 5 750 tomes and something from each the released alliance raids

    Stage 6 750 tomes and something from each of the raid bosses any difficulty (cuz I figure most would do normal and this helps with multiple things like new players doing them and veterans working towards something) and any new content I haven't utilize yet.
