In my opinion I believe that anything along "high chair" is okay, everyone agrees that it looks like one.
They can even keep the "lift" part as long as it is not tied to lalafellin people.
"Maybe people just like being humans"
- Lappland, 2021
Good to know having the expressive range of a wet paper bag like some other races in this game is the only way to be an adult and being exuberant makes you a baby. Great logic there.
You're playing a different version of FFXIV than some of the rest of us if you really think the lore supports lalafell as only jokes and not actual adult people. One of the reasons I enjoy the story world as much as I do is because the world actually does treat them like anyone else. You don't hear story NPCs throwing around casual infantilizing language toward lalafells. Nobody offers them a booster seat or a kiddie toy or treats them like they're fundamentally incapable of complex tasks or difficult decisions. We see them in every role in society: laborers, merchants, warriors, engineers, nobility, sorcery. There's a very obvious couple that is one lalafell and one taller person in Labyrinthos where they talk about their love surviving the Final Days. The playerbase deciding something is a joke does not make it so in the lore.
I also have to somewhat disagree with the comparison elsewhere of "it's the same as getting catnip as a Miqot'e, it's clearly a joke." There are no cat people in real life. There are diminutive adults in real life. And even if they were the same thing, it's really unkind to basically tell someone they signed up for and should accept bullying for playing a certain race in a video game. One should try to be a better person than that, whether or not anything will be done about this particular piece of furniture.
I'm gonna preface this to try and nip anything in the bud. Everyone's more than welcome to their opinion on the chair, etc. This is just me wanting to add my voice. Your thoughts on the matter are valid whether I agree with them or not.
Honestly, as a long time lalafell player, I absolutely love this chair. It's cute, it's a funny tongue in cheek, poking fun kinda thing like the cat tower. It dyes well, it's really cute, and I'm on the end of the spectrum where if I saw it in someone's house I'd be like 'Yo dibs on the lala chair'. People who get too offended on one side or the other really need to take a break and think about what they're getting upset over and have a chill pill. Like I agree, we should have some more serious lalafellian furniture, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with this chair, nor do I personally see any reason it would need to be redesigned or name changed. Some of the arguments against the chair, vaild. But really, at the end of the day it's a cliche adage but 'It's not that deep'.
As a decorator I would welcome size appropriate furniture for all. Means less work for me to think on the small scale. Heck, I have a min height lalafell alt made to double-check counter heights, seating arrangements and faux secondary floors. It is a shame this is the system we have to game to make a personal space comfortable for your WoL with glitching items about.
LOL wot?
Tataru is basically the little sister of the Scions. She has her own story moment in MSQ where she tries to be strong and helpful like the rest of the Scions but fails when she realizes she's not meant for battle and eventually discovers where she belongs with her own talent. One of the reasons I enjoy the story world as much as I do is because the world actually does treat them like anyone else. You don't hear story NPCs throwing around casual infantilizing language toward lalafells. Pipin is the little adopted son of Raubahn who he also looks up to and wants to try and be like.
Krile is the new young recruit of the Scions
Lolorito Nanarito looks and acts like the type of villain who would get a woman tied up and placed ontop of a railroad track
The Dwarfs in Shadowbringer were two rival tribes that were nothing but comedy for that entire expansion. Nearly every Lalafell from the first had a joke to crack
Their names are like nursery rhymes
Lalafell emotes are also a great example of 'child like behavior'
What more proof do you want that Lalafells were meant to be a joke and playable children without being actual children? The childish jokes might not be as obvious as giving lalafells candy but the child behavior and vibe is there. It's why no one likes lewding Lalafells because the entire game itself gives off that vibe.
Well it's a good thing this is a Final FANTASY game. Not rl so idk what rl has to do with any of this. . . Also no one is bullying you in this thread. People are laughing because of how childish the complaint is(no pun intended)I also have to somewhat disagree with the comparison elsewhere of "it's the same as getting catnip as a Miqot'e, it's clearly a joke." You people are absolutely unreal lmao.
Throwing a tantrum over nothing definitely won't help you be perceived as not-babies you know.
LMFAO this has got to be the funniest complaint about this game I've ever read
