I'm sorry you guys are confused about what an in game child looks like, seeing as FFXIV doesn't have a model for a lalafell child yet. They've made it known in the past that they plan on making more children for other races such as roegadyns, viera, lalafells, etc. But they DO have an example for about what it would look like height wise! Here's hoping the southern sea isles gives us a chance to see it in the future.

I don't think the point of contention from what I've read is that Lalafels are children, or that adult lalafels don't exist in lore, but that they look like toddlers. So, even if there were child Lalas, it doesn't make the adult Lalas look any less like overgrown babies.

Dude, for real… the majority of people dictate how they feel and think based on real life not video game lore. Lalafells look like children, that’s just a fact.

The chair could look better (your back doesn't even rest against it and the dyeing options are terrible) and there's a wealth of shortie furniture in that one lala dwarf zone so the assets are literally right there. Considering lalafell get really cute animations compared to other races and in some cases straight up better outfits (scaling can drastically change the look of a 'fit, and in many cases lalafell benefit while taller races get the shaft), I'm surprised the devs didn't go the extra mile where their furniture was concerned.
And that's really all I'm gonna say. The guy a dozen pages back who compared this "struggle" to the civil rights movement and LGBT discrimination is so far off base, like every day irl there are people with actual power crafting legislation to basically blur LGBTs out of existence, and violent assaults happen, and generational systemic discrimination is a thing, and you really wanna take all of that and compare it to a race you chose to be, in a game, not being allowed into an occasional nightclub? That take is so unbelievably shit, it's not doing your cause any favors man.

I see so many Lalas running around saying they need mommys and daddys. Pet me senpai etc... All this crap. Yet you get a chair and now all of a sudden you're mad? Get over yourselves. As a Lalafell main, I approve of this chair. It's very and fitting for a lalafell. If you cry about this chair, its perfect for you because it kinda looks like a babychair. You diaper babies need a binky attachment.

In my next to 2k hours playing FFXIV, I have received a remarkable amount of hate for playing a Lalafell, even outside of game. Genuine hatred and vitriol. I could care less about the chair situation but I have been called... upsetting words for the race I play in a video game. I'm sure you know the word I'm referring to. That's a disgusting thing to call someone, genuinely. I don't view Lalafells as children, mostly because... I play one, and I'm an adult. I model my character after myself, as in, my character looks like I do because I view her as an extension of myself. I do however disapprove of any content portraying Lalafells in a promiscuous light. I think that kind of thing is repulsive, moreso for Lalafells than the other races but I still think that kind of content, regardless of race, doesn't belong in this game.

I know it's a video game but going up to anyone and calling their character ugly or being actively hateful towards them because of the race they chose is weird. Most people would find the aforementioned behavior to be weird, except, for whatever reason, if you play Lalafell, in which chances are you'll be subject to that kind of harassment on a frequent basis. Tell me to touch grass all you want, but I read FFXIV stuff on Twitter, Reddit and 4chan and after this whole debacle I've seen all of them chock full of hate towards Lala players. When it comes to touching grass, I think people who feel actual hatred towards a silly video game race need to breathe fresh air.
