The people who complain about a digital furniture should grow up.

There is a severe disconnect in any MMO. Whether people want to acknowledge this fact or not: the pixels one sees on the screen are "connected" to a real human being on the other side of said screen. A human being with a heart, soul, & mind. That is not something that can be denied.
In my experience in FFXIV: those who play Lalafell do so for a simple reason... They like playing the shortest race in the game & (according to some sources) the race with the fastest "appearance wise" ground movement speed. Those I know who play Lalafell, play them because of those reasons or how they can "look cute" in just about any outfit. I know several people who play Lalafell who are in different countries & different ages: none of them view Lalafell as "children" in FFXIV. True, the lore given does not do a good job at pin pointing their "age bracket" & we do see "children" of other races in the game. However, to summarily say that a race "possessed of a childlike countenance" automatically makes them children in the game is difficult for me to grasp. I will not deny that there are those who would perverse such for their own ends; but, I dare say your average FFXIV player would not.
Let me put it this way:
A man with a family decides to play FFXIV. He decides to play a male Lalafell because he finds the "cowlick" in one of the hairstyles adorable and reminds him of his hair as a child. Going off of pure aesthetics alone: does that automatically make him a pedo?
A woman with a family decides to play FFXIV. She decides to play Hrothgar because she likes their tiger/lion like appearance. Going off of pure aesthetics alone: does that automatically make her a "furry?"
A young man decides to play FFIXIV. He decides to play as a male Elezen, chooses the "boyish" face because he himself still looks "boyish" & wants his character to match. Not knowing the lore behind Elezen & going off of pure aesthetics alone: does that automatically make him a "giraffe?"
I could continue to give examples; but, I think my meaning is clear. In my opinion: it is not the chair that has Lalafell players in an uproar; but, the stereotype given to Lalafell players as a means of reinforced belittlement & harassment. The "chair" has been used to give voice to a much larger issue & over all concern among the Lalafell players in the FFXIV. Instead of reacting with telling players they are being irrational or to fantasia to another race: have a little empathy for a change & try to see where they are coming from. To the Lalafell players who saw the "chair" & laughed at it or simply said "Ok; but, that is not something I want to use," thank you for not viewing it as a sign of preconceived indignation. While I am guilty of what I am about to say: with all the other issues in the world going on right now, to have a 33 page forum post regarding a housing item become a major issue of conversation.... Well, maybe a quote from FFXIV is correct: "There is no hope for mankind."

Dude....Please, it's a digital chair in a fictional game, made for a digital race that's quite small in height compared to other races, thus, a lifter to make them able to sit and utilize other furniture, thus "Lalafell's lifter". I don't understand how and why should we even discuss things like this. It's a fictional item for an online game, people love to be goofy and fun without having to think about it too much. If they play lalafell and don't like being called a child, they can just reply like "I am not a child, you know?" or just ignore. How did we reach this point? Can't we people distinguish between real life and fiction anymore? If we keep doing things like this, there will be no funs allowed in the future because one way or another, it's going to offend some people. There is a severe disconnect in any MMO. Gremlin
Chat is moving so fast nobody will notice I like lalas
The tiniest lala.
I wonder why SOME of lalafells that complains about this (plus saying Lalafells are adult!) are NSFW lalafells
/thinking
After reading this SE will never make another piece of race specific furniture again. Good job OP! /s
I hope SE knows that OPs opinion is their own, there are many lala players completely fine with the chair and even like it. I hope SE adds more.
In fact I love it when the game specifically mentions lalas in some funny way. I like it when fates say the monsters will eat my lala. Or when the wine bottle for the A Realm Reborn fireworks is too big for my character. Or when my character hangs on for dear life on some mounts, or in other mounts I get a tiny little toy thing. And I love it during cutscenes where my lala's head barely peeks over the desk, or when my character holds an axe that looks way too outsized. All of that makes playing lala fun for me, normalizing it as just any other race would disappoint me.
And while OP wants his character to be seen in some particular way, I don't think it's fair to say he's the majority. I want to be seen is smol, cute, and pet-able. This chair emphasizes that, if there is an FC meeting I will demand I get my booster chair and complementary lolipop.
Also kinda sus a lot of page 1-2 posters have such a low post count.

This thread is cringe. Nothing wrong with the item. Don't like it don't buy it. Lalafells were made to be child like. That's the point of the race. It's weird to see a small part of the community so mad over an in game race.
