I guess the silver lining in it looking bad on the majority is that there's some more noise about it now, I don't like where we're headed when you not only have to wonder if you like the style of a future hairstyle but also if it actually looks right on your particular race.

Yeah, I suppose people would rather make noise about how it looks awful on Viera and use it as justification for why Viera should never have asked for anything than acknowledge that it looks dreadful on almost everybody. And I'm even OK with the design. I don't think we have an enormous mass of short hairstyles, least of all short Modern Aesthetics hairstyles. Something like this would be very welcome if it fit properly. Would it ever be my style for my character? Probably not, but I bet it would be significantly more popular as a short/butch style if it was modeled with more care.

The people blaming it on race are something else. There is absolutely no way for this hair to look good. On anyone. Unfortunately it looks only slightly worse on viera bc its making your forehead look like a computer monitor bc of the location of viera ears.

Idk, I'd argue the actual problem is most character models having a giant forehead to begin with, so any (non racial?) hairstyles without bangs covering a significant portion of the face would have the same effect, some just looking wose than others and this one being such case.

I think it looks good on Elezen, Highlanders, Roes and Hroth - would you look at it, the "ugly" races ....hmmm....

I think it looks great and I'm glad to see a more masculine hairstyle added that's really short, isn't some super spikey over the top style, or something with pony tails or long bangs/hair hanging in front of the face.
