Lazy design. Creating content that funnels players into already flourishing content instead of tying it to content that needs a little more life (Alliance raids, Criterion, etc.) is hilarious. Did you know that the current Savage and Ultimate does not give astronomy tomes?
Current tiers of savage have never given unlocked tomes.
And the biggest fix for alliance raids is to make it so you have to have a min ilvl for the highest raid unlocked on the job you queue with. So ilvl cheese can't happen.
Right they listen when it comes to shrinking content but with healers? Content trivialization? Job homogenization? Housing? PVP? Hackers & bots? Not a mentionRemember when we had 4 eureka zones for relic steps and everyone complained and hated it and said they wanted the old tomestone grinds back from Heavensward?
Remember when we had to do 15 DR and people just wanted their old content crystal tower farms back?
So now SE is letting people do whatever content they want as long as it gives the tomestones.
Tbh people asked for boring old content and they got it. It’s the people attacking eureka as a concept that got us here so I hope they enjoy it.
Almost like they're not actually listening, just doing what they want to, not what the community insists it wants.
But why not both? Fix ilvl cheese AND incentivize players to do the Alliance Raid content lmao. And with this game's spaghetti code, the latter is easier to implement anyway, so might as well do that first while working on the former.
The former already exists in mentor roulette.
No it does not lmao. It has the same form of requirement any other roulette has (i.e: Be X level with X ilvl). What you are asking for is if you are level 50 you need X ilvl, level 60 x ilvl, level 70 x ilvl, etc. etc. That is never been implemented
What do you think every relic grind outside eureka and the original relic were? Literally old content.
Someone even said they wish it was a fate grind to get shared dates done. Well this game has a way of making sure you don’t get to kill two birds with one stone. It’s all content that no one really needs unless they are new and content no one truly wants to do as many times as they ask us to do it
Then get a relic for 2 alt jobs you like playing a lot. I always get one for my main tank, healer, and DPS, and then the 4th is always a result of needing to upgrade for some other job that I'm having to play as for raid.Well this is exactly what I did both of these steps because I already had the 1500 tomes. So it was literally zero effort, zero achivement, zero reason to log in the next day or the rest of the month that I subbed for.
And I dont want to get a relic for all 19 jobs. The vast majority of jobs I level to 90 and then don't touch until the next expansion (because theres no max level content to do on them (this is what the relic should be!!) outside of raiding).
I've given up on the dev. team, I think they expect players to grind out tomestomes in the new deep dungeon, but relics should have least have gotten a fun side as well in their own way and identity.
I don't know what is going on anymore.
If that was what they wanted, it's not a terrible idea per say, but maybe they should have added more to the fragment vendor. lol It has less than HoH did, and HoH didn't have much, which does nothing for Orthos' sustainability. But yeah, there should have been more to the relic grind either way.
