Let’s not pretend that it takes development effort to ask us to do 15 variant dungeons, all EW normal mode trials and leveling dungeons, or farm the new deep dungeon 15 times for the relic. They just decided not to.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

I mean you're right because we knew we weren't getting a new zone its all they could do really there is no way round it so rather than focusing in on particular paths they just said do anything current and you get there.
And that's fair for people who are new/slower but it also just adds to the argument that they're catering to only one crowd.I mean it is and isn't like a dungeon gives 50 without additional to when you're in there. Same with like raids and hunts..if you've saved up for one off the bat you still need to grind in some capacity to get others let alone get them all and that's for BOTH stages now...its a timesink in some capacity. It just not a grind X Fate 30 times cause the drop rate is not in your favour or go in this new zone and grind FATES or run these dungeons to get a book. You're running dungeons just not for a book but for a currency we already have. ARR and HW disguised the step we are doing now under a different system but its borderline the same. Not defending it just an observation is all.
I'm only doing two relics, SCH and SMN, and have 1500 tomes ready to go for the first. The second will only take me an hour or two with hunts. That's not content in my opinion, at all. It's as you said, a time sink.
It just feels really shallow and I was hoping for some sort of a deeper experience that would make it feel like what I'm doing has a purpose. Doing hunts for tomestones is literally something I do already several times a week. It's nothing new.
Even if we weren't getting a new zone, they should have tied it into Criterion Normal somehow. It would have been an amazing excuse to revitalize that content and add more rewards to it considering once you have the mount, title and outfit pieces there's no real reason to go back.

I completely get that as a hunt train person myself its the most time efficient way to get upgrade mats for tome gear too for instance but then we have to remember not everyone do Hunts for them this grind will be a lot slower...or it will push them into a new content experience. But you are right I would of liked there to have been something more, granted I'm not sure what the crafter and gatherer relic is looking like either unless someone here knows XDAnd that's fair for people who are new/slower but it also just adds to the argument that they're catering to only one crowd.

I guess everyone forgot that parts where Yoshi and part of the FFXIV development team is working on FFXVI. So Yoshi p ALREADY asked SE for more money and got turned down to make the game better in his views, then has to go with some of his team to work on 16 (which means prior to this he felt his team needed norand somehow people didn't expect with a smaller team than normal devs taking a easier / safer route ATM.

Man,I really miss Eureka and Bozja.![]()
Maybe I'm just the hot opinion person here but I get that they're busy on 16 but at the same time, it's not an excuse to lower the quality of another game. If SE is denying them the ability to hire more people to make the game better, then the issue is with SE and that's where the fingers should be pointed. It's just not okay when people are paying for a live service game to basically tell us to screw ourselves and wait it out. If I wasn't tied down to a house I really don't want to lose, I would cancel my sub until 6.4.I guess everyone forgot that parts where Yoshi and part of the FFXIV development team is working on FFXVI. This should never be an excuse, those of us who have paid for this game for 10 years loyally, don’t care about whether they are wrapped up in FFXVI….do your job on this game and stop catering to the 3 hour a week, new, players only…what a joke.
My issue with grinding games has always been the RNG system behind it, you may get it or not, and if you don't, you have to grind more. I like Eureka and love Bozja, I had actually expected some grind this patch, maybe like fates, but this... this is just not good.
