And I dont want to get a relic for all 19 jobs. The vast majority of jobs I level to 90 and then don't touch until the next expansion (because theres no max level content to do on them (this is what the relic should be!!) outside of raiding).

Those of you who just want to buy a weapon with tomes can already do that. They shouldn't ruin content people enjoy for lazy players who dont want to put effort in either.

As I said, i dont want to just farm tomes doing the same roulettes over and over again. ShB first step was trash, but the 2nd step was Bozja which actually took a couple of weeks of effort (which i know people are allergic to).

My happiest time in the game was during Stormblood, just casually logging in and working on my Eureka relic. Made some good friends and communities through that. (Isnt that what MMOs are supposed to be about?) Just logging in to do the same roulettes day after day and grinding tomes isnt the same at all, no matter how many weapons you want to do.

Levelling jobs and getting the relic for each of those jobs is something to do until the next expansion. Something you said you're looking for.

But you also said you refuse to get a relic for more than your main class.

You want more to do? Farm more relics since it's so easy. Doesn't matter if you use the classes or not. Something to do. If you refuse that, then I really don't care about your complaint, since it's the effect of your own choices. Unless you're allergic to the effort.

I didnt say I refuse to do more. Just that I don't want to.. I definitely will get more than one, just through osmosis of gathering tomes through doing content with my FC. (Not like theres much else to spend those tomes on besides a few crafting mats to sell) But theres nothing to drive me to get them, no sense of achievement at the end of it. No interesting or unique content to get my teeth into and work out. Just the same tome farming i've been doing for 10 years at this point.

Like I said before. I miss Eureka. The sense of community. The purpose of logging in to work on something and the achievement at the end of it. Those relics in Stormblood meant something. These ones are just like any other tome weapon (Only more expensive).

And I do accept that Eureka could have been a lot better. But a tome grind with no content attached to it isnt the answer.

The solution to this problem is to create relic steps that have a downward curve on grind. The first weapon you work on requires more time and resources, but each subsequent weapon requires less to a point for that step.

The problem people seem to be missing is we are discussing 1500 uncapped tomestones here; that is literally one set of roulettes assuming you get the new player bonus on the MSQ roulette which you almost always do

This isn’t “choose your own way of grinding your relic” this is making a relic equivalent to one day of roulettes most people just mindlessly do on the daily

If you want to keep the tomestone idea but actually make it relic worthy then ask for 5000 uncapped, 5000 poetics and then make one half or the other able to be substituted by completion of the variant dungeon x number of times or the new deep dungeon

Can still play the game. Playing is required to gather the tomes needed.

I suspect the people who want the excruciating grind only do a handful of relics, if more than 1, and go back to bees kneesing in Limsa. Because people do pay their sub to do just that.

I do not want an excruciating grind to be able to obtain every relic. I should be able to get home from work and not feel this game has become a second job, I should feel like I can do other things, play other games, or log into my potato alt.

Farm X number of (insert old content here), or grind X fates in an old expansion are not more content or more diverse than collect set number of tomes.

You say play other content by everything has been gutted and become shallow.

In before you say go do old content in the irony of it.

While true I think my issue is this doesn't help content that has issues with wait times at all. I had expected stuff like Eden, Omega, Nier, Ivalice, or Stormblood dungeons as all of those have wait time issues. I could go do those sure but none of them offer astronomy.

Yeah, plenty of people expected at least Nier raids to be touched since it is the only 24 raid that has no relic involvement if I remember correctly.
Eden was involved as an alternative with the 1 time only step with Zadnor as an alternative if people didn't want to touch Bozja
