    Demolishon of houses

    Hi,

I saw a post about the temporary suspention of auto demolishion. Normaly when you don't want your house anymore or want to relocate, you just demolish it and get 0 gil back, but when you wait 45 days, you get 80% of the paid gil back.

How is this issue adressed, since the only option to get rid of a house would be to demolish it and lose your 80%.

It's not addressed as it's not considered an issue. The gil returned was a consolation for losing your plot to the auto-demo timer, it was not meant as an incentive. You'll have to decide if waiting an unknown period of time for the gil is worth being stuck on your current world if you're looking to swap to another.

If you're trying to get rid of a house as fast as possible and still get back the 80% that is returned if it is auto-demolished, you can do even better by transferring the owning character to a New world. That way you would get back 100% of the refundable value plus a little extra as compensation for furnishings you couldn't remove (interior and exterior fixtures plus Chocobo Stable and Miniature Aetheryte if you have them).

It would mean that you would need to leave the character on the new world for at least 90 days if you want to be on a different world but that 90 days goes by quickly.

That's not true. You cannot transfer to a new world if you own a house on your existing one. I wish it were true as I'd run back to Coeurl as fast as possible.

It's only if you're moving from a Congested World to a new/preferred world with incentives:

    * Please apply for a Home World transfer after removing your estate hall and furnishings, but DO NOT relinquish the land. If you have relinquished the deed to your plot, you will not be eligible to receive the bonuses outlined above.

    Apartments
Reimbursement of the 500,000 gil price, and compensation of 500,000 gil for non-recoverable furnishings

    * Please apply for a Home World transfer after removing your furnishings, but DO NOT vacate the apartment. If you have relinquished the rights to your property, you will not be eligible to receive the bonuses outlined above.

    * Any gil above the maximum of 999,999,999 will be lost.
From this page, it's outlined in both the New World and Preferred World links.

Yes, you can transfer to a new world even if you own a house and get your gil refunded. It only works if you are transferring to a New world (but are not currently on a New world), or if you're on a Congested world transferring to a Preferred world.

Coeurl is neither New nor Preferred. At the time I made my post, it was a Congested world. It is now a Standard world.
