Finished the last stage 2 hildi today, so that's all the new tools and all the new hildis. Did the tools from scratch. Did the tomestones from roulettes + the occasional troia. I could have finished the weapons faster if I did hunts, but I had a poor experience with that so I avoid those from now on.

Guess I can get back to work on finishing my first HW Relic. I don't think it'll be too bad since I never used most of my HW BT currency and I got to use that to basically skip the anima step.

Congratulations! I'm 4 from finishing off my Amazing Mandervilles myself.

If you're working on relics, ffxivrelictracker.com is a fantastic resource. It helps you keep track of items you need and has links to the quests involved.

Also this site for anima, and there are links to all the others

Light farming might be a little tricky on certain classes if you use A9S since you need to use your weapon (at least on the main boss) but it's doable solo. And a cinch if you have a friend or two.

Oh that's neat. I didn't really have much trouble planning it out.

Well I'm working on the WAR relic so it'll be fine solo. Just currently deciding if I want to bother farming poetics or just wait for dailies. Also trying to decide whether ARF or Paglth'an would be faster since ARF is ilvl synced.

I really, really didn't plan ahead for this, but I guess the good news is that like my ARR relic, once I finish this I'll know what to prep ahead of time.

I want to get all of the ARR/HW Relics eventually. Might also do SkySteel sometime too.

I've gone back to suffering through Eureka because I want all my relics, too. Zetas are done, anima has 4 left, resistance has far too many to count stuck on the timeworn step, and not a single Eureka completed. Then I look at the crystal requirements and just want to cry. The FATE train is so so so so boring.

I'm still doing Eureka weekly and trying to level up. I feel like once I do that I'll actually be able to work on the relics there much easier.

I finished the HW relic though.

I think I've learned my lesson at this point. These things absolutely need to be prepped ahead of time when it involves the poetics or other time gated items like the Alexandrite/Singing Clusters/Umbrite, and it wouldn't hurt to have the items you buy for seals stock piled too. I'm kind of happy I found something to use my White Gatherers' scrips on though since I can dump those into tokens to buy the Crystal Sand.

Bringing this thread up again to post this... I finished all my EW relics so far

The Mandervilles took me around 19 days for both steps, since I finished EW MSQ after 6.35 dropped so I had to play catch up, where as the Splendorous tools took 3 days in all, 2 for Crafters and 1 for Gatherers, it was nice grind for both, and led to me develop an enjoyment of Hunt trains.

Grats! I got my last Amazing a few days ago so I've been able to chill on roulettes and not feel I had to hit them so often.

I finished my Anemos relics and have been trying to hit Pagos NMs. I never liked Pagos in the first place but it's so much less friendly than Anemos. There's a lot more instance hopping and people who just AFK at the cash NMs while others spawn it so they can instant pull and then bail. I've never seen more than about 30ish people or so even on eastern prime time on Aether. And I shout for groups but never get one or try to start my own and get no takers. From what I've seen from leveling through Pyros and now that I'm in Hydatos, they seem to work similarly though I haven't hit the NM scene as heavily in those since I'm stuck in Pagos for that step.

SE needs to lower the crystal requirements or allow more methods of obtaining because outside of Anemos the zones don't seem to have NMs spawned and focused on a consistent enough basis for the crystals required. I've seen so many zones be active for a few NMs and then just completely die off. I want a bit more than just tomestone grinding with Mandervilles, but I'm glad they didn't bring the Eureka style back. It's not future proofed at all. At least Bozja does have some future proofing built in.

I like how they removed the relic grind because they thought people hated the grind and not the fact that it was just how Eureka/Bozja needed QoL features like not having CLL be COMPLETELY RANDOM AND SCREWING YOU OVER IF YOU DON'T HAVE SEVERAL HOURS TO WASTE IDLING.

"You guys got mad at the grind" no we got mad at de-leveling and the fact that you kept making us run antitower or having to do the stupid kettle light collecting AGAIN even though it was the most despised portion of the OG ARR relic grind.

Just fix it! Don't abandon it because you got a little bruised from the critique just FIX IT.

I think it was good not to tie the relic to zones with a definite shelf life. They can still make the adventure zone content. Just let it stand on its own feet as what it is. And let the relic questline utilize that area as a possible option, so those who like that content can get updates there, but still have other options for those who don't like that content. I've seen the argument made that they are doing exactly that with the tomestones and that is true. But that seems a little too broad. A handful of specific choices that have a good spread for a given step would be ideal. Kind of like how WT behaves.

    I agree with this.

I do enjoy Eureka and Bozja in some ways, but in addition to the faults the content had on release, it also has the fault of being on a time limit. I will never get to experience either of them as content at their best because they're both older optional zones. The relics if anything are what keeps those zones alive in a lot of ways.

I know a lot of the older generation hates the idea of "turning their MMO into a single player game" but that's not really what I'm hinting at. I'm more so saying that developers need to add fail safes to older content that is super group orientated. I know even more people are going to laugh, saying that only current content matters and that if you care so much about older content it's your responsibility to find other willing players for it but... I mean really? It's a game, not a job, and finding players for older content sometimes feels like one, especially when half the players who join you are doing it as charity work or out of pity. It's the developers job to ensure that content is still playable in a similar fashion to how it was intended to be on release when the content was more active, because if they can't do that then they really may as well just delete the content.
