Firstly congratulations to those who got codes to buy tickets I hope you have a fantastic time at fanfest and be it first or you third one I hope it is fun. Those who didn't get in, good luck in the general sales and ultimately it does suck for anyone who didn't get in and had high hopes of meeting fc mates or planned vacation etc.

The problem with that sample size it is not indicative of an absolute sample size of people who applied and far too prone to error to interpret anything too meaningful e.g. troll voting, people voting who couldn't even apply in USA area, we don't know how many people actually applied or those that even have twitter etc. The only thing we do know is that apparently there were 15k tickets available so potentially 7,500 lucky people with emails with to buy two tickets and that was based on a screenshot from showclix that has been floating around. So the approximate poll i would personally take with a pinch of salt, there are a certain amount of tickets that have been pooled and so many people will get to attend, working out the variables doesn't change any real outcome for me.

The preamble of the email did say that lucky winner emails would be sent out by a date (to me that is upto and including) and a tweet sent out when all emails are sent e.g. despite people not checking junk email etc. I think people are hoping they are being done in waves/batches etc. I have seen people upset about how they have played since 1.0 and subbed for ages, it felt like a fair lottery to me regardless of player type as I dont think anyone has more right than anyone else to attend personally. I just hope that bots were combated. This is about to happen for me and the EU lottery and if I win awesome, if not then I suppose I will save a few quid and buy some merch and watch online.

Twitter is not the only place that people congregate. A lot of people do but a Twitter poll is a smaller percentage than you think. There are plenty of people on Facebook, Insta, etc. that aren't on Twitter that won't have seen the poll. I did in fact get an email, though one of my friends said that I was the only one they knew personally who did. I was the only one out of the other two people I was hoping to go with that did, in fact, get the email.

Same. Anyone trying to gatekeep because "well I've been playing since the ALPHA I'm better than all of you and I deserve to go MORE than the people who just started during Endwalker!!!!" are nasty people. I've seen plenty of that and it's absolutely ridiculous. I truly hope they have the day they're wishing on everyone else who got tickets over them.

I love someone's response to the second Tweet. Would be hilarious if the RNG lottery roller gave out 0s to people again.

As for the OP itself I sadly can't offer anything helpful since I'm not going to the Fanfests anywhere.

I can't say how accurate this actually is but from a discussion I've seen in a XIV Discord, there's around 15000 tickets for Fan Fest Las Vegas. It's highly likely that the majority, if not all tickets will sellout during the raffle stage. I somehow don't expect London to be any different either.

That's a decent amount of tickets tbh, especially for a regional event. Almost certainly a slim percentage of the amount of people who want to go, but gotta be somewhat realistic about their capacity I suppose.

Yeah, it also doesn't help that the game has massively surged in popularity since the last in-person Fan Fests for Shadowbringers in 2018-19. Not to mention they actually have to plan enough activities and content to keep the audience entertained. Sure, they could probably get a much larger convention hall and sell 40,000 tickets but what exactly are they going to do to entertain all 40k people? It's an event for one game, not an entire publisher (see BlizzCon as an example) or an entire industry (E3, GamesCom etc).

I'd like to think that I'll get a ticket for Fan Fest London through either getting my own code or being someone's second ticket if they're raffled. Prayge.

    Fingers crossed for you mate.

I contemplated giving it a go, but it clashes with a trip I'd already planned this year. Maybe next time.

The LVCC can hold quite a bit of people (200k at least) but they're sharing the space that same weekend. Not sure if they have a larger space over SE and so they had to cap out Fanfest or not, which wouldn't be SE's fault if so, but some extra people to be able to go would have been good too. I'm a little salty in how they did this (for other reasons) but if it's not something they can control, I can understand that.

I do think there will be plenty that go into the general sales, however, because a there's been some "well my entire FC wanted to go but only 1-4 people got an email and we're a large FC" and similar comments on socials. I don't doubt some will let those drop and those tickets will go into general sales for those that didn't get an email. I only hope this time that the vendor won't screw up like they did in 2018 which will only make people angrier (I'm still pretty salty over how 2018's NA Fanfest was handled, and I know I'm not the only one) so they'll probably be watching those closely.

I'm super disappointed that I was not a winner, but I think the biggest let down for me (and all the others in this position) is that I was hoping to meet up with some FC people. Fortunately(?) none of us got picked for the lottery, but I was seeing that some FCs applied and one of many got selected, and the one isn't going to go if the others aren't.
So assuming all the tickets spaces were held by lotto winners, it is possible tickets are going to come up in general sales because FC people who were looking for a chance to meet up at Fanfest and won't be going because that isn't going to be able to happen.

If they do a lotto next FF they should
1)Allow for FC members to register together so either they all get tickets or they don't. I've seen conventions do group registrations so, it shouldn't be 'that' hard to pull off.
    2) Send an email to all people who entered to tell them that A) you won or B) you didn't. I know this isn't how "normal" lottos works, but it would have been nice to have a clear answer

(there was a lot of questions on the twitter post b/c the emails were sent out yesterday instead of today. I know the wording says that players will be informed "by" the 3rd which means that it could be anytime before than as well)
