By constantly listening to people that dont want to play an mmo (or any game for that matter lol)
Diablo stopped being good after the second one for me.
It's absolutely wild how I got both an oldschool MMO feel from D4, AND my the childhood feeling of D2. It's so weird, and I'm really looking forward to what they do with the living world of Diablo moving forward.
"Wait.. I can have both!?"
Being able to level sync like WoW in Diablo is actually such a fun concept to me. Fuck all the people crying they can't backtrack and insta-kill everything. I want wider coop opportunities now, not endgame. It's an MMO - We have friends and randos we wanna game with. Go play something offline if you're trying to solo shit. It also lets me use my full kit while synced.
There's just so much to do in the open world, I only wish they added MAYBE a party finder? Or LFG markers in your world. Where you can look at the map and see someone looking for people to run a dungeon with. So you request party and run over there.
I don't think many people realize that D4 is trying to compete on a different level in the Live Service market.
I also hated Diablo 3. :l

Diablo 4 is an action RPG, not an MMO. You may see lots of people running around, but when the time comes, everything is still procedurally generated rather than fixed in place.
Might as well say Call of Duty or Halo is an MMO, rather than first-person shooters.
It's fine that you're enjoying Diablo 4. I enjoyed Diablo 3. But I would never call either of those games an MMO. Single-player action RPG with a four player coop mode? Sure. Just like the coop modes for Call of Duty and Halo, in that respect.
Did he delet that sentence? I do not find it.
Qiyo Joyo - Der Zahnstocher der Sande/ der Erste/ Kreuzfahrer der Zwölf.
fixed in place is what makes something an mmo? diablo 4 is an MMO and even sacrifice some core diablo things for it.Diablo 4 is an action RPG, not an MMO. You may see lots of people running around, but when the time comes, everything is still procedurally generated rather than fixed in place.

So, every dungeon instance is exactly the same? You can team up with more than 3 other individuals for a dungeon? The 'story' isn't repetitive after the first time you complete it? It becomes brand new when you switch from druid to necromancer?
The last time I read anything from the Director of Diablo IV, they said ""Our goal has always been to incorporate elements from shared world games without the game ever feeling like it’s veering into massively multiplayer territory. ... To be clear, this is a philosophy rather than a tech limitation. We find that the game stops feeling like Diablo and the world feels less dangerous when you see other players too often or in too high numbers."
So, they threw that philosophy away and started up the Diablo equivalent of World of Warcraft?
