Known for their one and only title Forspoken, the game studio is folding into SQEX officially on May 1 2023. Any patches for visual updates and the upcoming planned DLC are still on their way.

I'll take reasons to be concerned for 500, Alex. I mean, I jest, but hoboy was Forspoken a train wreck. Hopefully that team treats it as a learning experience and gets it fixed in subsequent releases.
So basically a studio only known for an utterly terrible game is merging into SE? This is either irrelevant or bad news for any future SE projects they're assigned to.
I suppose we should just hope and pray that they don't get assigned to FFXIV. I don't want FFXIV to be another 'learning experience' for them.
It is mildly worrying depending on what Square Enix decides to do with them... As Forspoken doesn't really seem like it was particularly successful or good.
There are various viewpoints covering the topic..,
some thinking it was decent for the devs, whilst removing the chaff of the Upper heads..,
and then there is the XV, and Forspoken angle..,
I mean... they did FF15
FFXV was definitely one of the games ever.
Huh. Well...
I guess it's their money to buy them out or whatever but I hope this improves something down the line cause I've not heard really...anything positive about Forspoken. Like...not a thing. Any review of it seem to blast it to bits. I guess the positive for Forspoken was I was pretty amused with how universally hated it was.

Luminous Productions Co., Ltd. (株式会社ルミナス・プロダクション, Kabushiki gaisha Ruminasu Purodakushon) was a Japanese video game development studio and a subsidiary of Square Enix.
It was originally known as Business Division 2, which was the development team responsible for Final Fantasy XV and was one of 12 Business Divisions (internal development and production divisions) that Square Enix had at the time before the company consolidated its development divisions in 2020. The current name and development structure of the studio was formed on 27 March 2018 as an external company.
The aim of the company was to create AAA video games for a global audience using Square Enix's proprietary Luminous Engine.[5][6]
On February 28, 2023, Square Enix Holdings announced that on May 1, 2023, Luminous Productions would reorganize and merge with Square Enix Co. Ltd internally, citing the merging of the two would “enhanced the group’s abilities to develop HD games”.[7]
