You can still suck people even on Hysteria so of course RPR.Reaper has its own issue and not really up to par with Contradance.
Contradance bound the all targets on the spot and will not move around unpredictably and it does not count as CC so DRK can still Salted and Darkness right after
The targets are trapped there for a while for your team to AOE burst on
If you see it from POV of Dragoon, Dancer and Reaper, which one you prefer?
EDIT: Also want to add, you also remove their guard from guarding against succ's burst with Hysteria faster so yeah, still RPR IMO.

For you maybe, for me, i prefer DNC as best option, but as I haven't see a DNC can play this correctly, Reaper as Lessar option will do.
Nevertheless, this is why I think potency reduction system should comes back if range/casters insist 60% is too much
Currently, it is melees have to endure the pain of dealing with DRK + DRGs (thank God there is no smart Reaper yet)
Especially when WHM and BRD are not doing their job to CC enemy DRK
If range/caster is in range of DRK's salted earth, I want to see if you still have guts to say melee do not need that extra 20% damage reduction after got melted by DRK + DRGs (in which is not a perfect version yet)
If you want to enjoy to kill a meele as Range/Caster, go play Rival Wing.
The damage reduction there is a joke that I didn't even notice they put it in when i play for first time in 6.1

I'm not exactly sure what you're expecting from NA. Dancer may be scary in other regions, but from what I've been hearing, seeing, and experiencing dancer is basically a free kill here. Crystal conflict you'll see that sort of mentality as early as gold/plat games and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the norm in casual games.
As someone have mentioned earlier playing dancer in frontlines is way too much work. Sure, I can cheese my way up to 60% dr and get that juicy damage in, but they'll always have the higher risk dying seeing that they're the only range that has no form of self peel other than their LB which can either not be used to its full effect or can outright be negated no thanks to the one second delay. I'd rather play nerfed summoner over dancer.
(Note: Despite my bias thoughts I will admit that part of my judgement may be completely wrong. After a few high level games of CC I am slowly going back to frontlines very paranoid about my own positioning.)

Dancer is a high risk but high reward job.
Ranges have been top priority on kill list post patch 4.5, it is not something new and not a problem unique to Dancer.
It is about your positioning as I have suggested should always position yourself near a DRK or PLD.
DRK has Salted Earth and The Blackest Night (if same party) and PLD has Shield Bash and Guardian (if same party) to bail Dancer out.
If Dancer is able to time Contradance with current trending Dark Knight strategy, there is no way enemy melees to survive
Especially, when current NA WHM and BRD only cares their own personal KD on the scorebord

If I start to get too comfortable with SMN maybe I'll start using DNC for frontlines. Currently I just farm up as much BH I can and sit on a DRG since I know that I can instant clear groups with them.I have no expectation and just share my opinions because he insists to
