I might be misremembering, but I recall from the recent interviews someone said they reportedly want to port it to PC, but they don't have a timeline. So could be quite a while yet, but I expect it'll make it eventually.
I think yoshida said that.
Basically it's a 6 months exclusive, but the PC port might not come out after 6 months, because they want it to be a good port.
It's only temporarily exclusive. Last I heard the plan was to release the PC edition 6-12 months after the PS5 version was released.
If the game is good, it's not really that long to wait and there are lots of other good games to play in the meantime. If the game ends up bad, you've saved yourself $80.
As to why exclusives still get made, corporate contracts and desire to increase market share of sales. Nothing new about that. Game developer gives platform maker a potentially big title as an exclusive in exchange for other considerations from the platform maker (like opportunity to release lesser games on that platform where they may get more notice and more sales).
Do you likewise complain about exclusives when it comes to all the games that are released only on PC?

Everyone does exclusive get over yourself Netflix HBO max Gamepass Disney plus it how they get people to subscribe to their products or buy their productsI think that has to change with Microsoft rolling in and saving FF franchise from being PS exclusives. PC players matter, you know. The idea of "Exclusives" alone is disgusting, and what's more disgusting is a company trying to take third-party games as exclusives. Third-party games should be neutral or else it's plain monopoly.

Lmao se would never sell to western company and jp government would never allow It"Oh no, bad evil PC gamers are taking small indie games for themselves!"
Most of these "Hundreds of thousands" PC 'exclusive' games are small indie games developed by one person up to a very small team. Games that get to be very successful end up on the Consoles most of the time.
There's a difference between devs not releasing a game on consoles, and consoles taking games for themselves based on an "Exclusivity contract".
Thankfully with Microsoft Xbox going headstrong recently, PlayStation has been releasing its own IPs on PC to boost sales, and it's only a matter of a couple of years before Day 1 console exclusives find their way to the PC.
Hopefully, they acquire SE next after Activision so "Everyone" can enjoy playing the next FF games instead of just PlayStation players.
