A moment of appreciation that FFXIV released years ago back when PS exclusives weren't a big deal. If it was released nowadays then it could have been a PS exclusive...

P.S.: Yes I'm mad that as a PC player I won't see FF16 this year.

1.0 didnt even get a console release it was PC only, 2.0 it when it went to ps3

also as a pc user iam used to not getting exclusives, as much as i love the zelda/pokemon/tenchu/ace combat series and all that i dont see the point in buying every console just to play a few select games, if a game doesnt come to pc i will either skip it or on the rare occasion watch a playthrough of it on youtube (still waiting patiently for horizon forbidden west to get a pc release)

Console exclusives have always been a big deal?
I mean, there was a brief period between FFXIII and FFXV where they were a little more lax, at least between PS and XBox. But they're really the exception to the rule. Since FF7 began it's new life on the PS1, Final Fantasy has been a Sony baby.
Really, if you're any kind of Final Fantasy fan, you have a Sony console. There's really no other excuse not to.

The fact that XIV is on PC is entirely down to the fact that it's an MMO. It kinda HAS to be on PC.

Since FF7 began it's new life on the PS1, Final Fantasy has been a Sony baby.
Really, if you're any kind of Final Fantasy fan, you have a Sony console. There's really no other excuse not to.

FF has been on Nintendo since the beginning and while the mainline series moved to Playstation, they never backed away from Nintendo.

I didn't get a Playstation until much later into the FFs so I was introduced to Final Fantasy through Tactics Advance and the FF remasters on GBA as well as Crystal Chronicles on Gamecube and became a fan that way.

Meanwhile I remember the SNES era when games getting released on multiple consoles was a new and exciting idea.

Of course, that's probably because there wasn't a lot of serious competition for the NES and Game Boy for a long time....

Can't really take that for granted honestly. Destiny 1 never made it to PC AFAIK for instance, only the second game ...

I can understand console games being exclusive from other consoles but I don't see why they need to be exclusive from PC as well. If I have a high end PC I see no benefit to buying a console, and it's absurd to buy a console just for one game, so I just have to wait a year or two to play the game for no reason.

and thats assuming the game even comes to PC, as much as i wanna play ghost of tsushima i doubt it'll ever get a PC release, though more japanese companys are starting to bring games over to PC, atlus who is known for hating pc games has already released the persona games on pc hopefully they port the trauma games to pc soon, fatal frame 4/5 is also on steam so hopefully we'll get a pc port of 1/2/3 some day

Both will probably come to PC. Sony have consistently been releasing their bigger IP on PC (Horizon zero dawn, God of War, The Last of Us, both Spider-man, Detroit Become Human, Returnal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, even Days Gone).
It might take a couple of years, but i'm sure Ghost of Tsushima FF16 and GoW Ragnarok will end up on PC as well considering their track record.

I'm sure it will. It seems like over the past few years console developers have started to realize that there is relatively little overlap between the PC and console audience and they're leaving millions on the table by not porting their games to PC. Of course this makes shunning a PC release at launch even more mystifying and frustrating.
