We should go to G'raha's old timeline

So we can see people lose their shit over Zenos still existing there when he approaches us. xD

But on a serious note, it would be a pretty knteresting experience to explore all the zones across Eoreza and the Far East that were affected by the 8th Calamity.

Like, imagine making your way to Gridania and it looks like endless sea dead and decrepit trees and dried cracked earth. Or going to Ul'dah and seeing that's nothing but a sandy wasteland, save for a few Amaljaa tribes migrating through the sandy seas.

I didn't like Xenos at first but he did grow on me. However he needs to stay dead and gone. It was a good end for him and him being alive in one form or another steals away from that.

You're right. Just bring Zenos back somehow. It doesn't even need to make logical sense, just bring him back into the story in any way possible.

That's a interesting idea and I would love to see the reaction of the ascians when we talk in detail about how their world came to a end.

Also, we could become become stronger then them, because we could combine the Azems of two timelines.

That would be cool to see, plus ain't we dead in that timeline, wonder how the world was affected by our death, I think it was explained but I forgot.

I want his SHB robe set for a Glam, one of the coolest looking mage set in the game, right up there with the Elidibus outfit.

Didn’t Zenos destroy the White Rose factories once he got his body back? Or am I misremembering that? He thought it was cowardly.

Edit: Black Rose, not White Rose. But, yeah, I think Zenos destroyed it so I don't think the calamity would have ever happened anyway.

On one hand, I think it would make for an intriguing plot, giving hope to a world where it has completely disappeared.

On the other, I merely have to remember FFXI with it's many similar "parallel worlds where Vana'diel lost the Crystal War/was destroyed etc" storylines and say, no, just no. (Really, FFXI overused the idea so much it that I just hate the concept now).

Plus, it's clear the 'post 8th Calamity timeline' world is meant to just be a narrative device to explain ShB's storyline, and is not intended to be explored any further, being 'cast off'. And with the revelations in EW, it would just add so much complexity to an already over-complicated mess of a storyline the whole thing would just collapse.

No, leave the 8th Calamity timeline be, let it remain adrift, let it's history remain unwritten.

Even if we could go there (which would involve creating an even more powerful higher-layer-of-spacetime machine than we currently have), we couldn't just waltz into it and fix things any more than preventing the calamity altogether fixed it. Those events are set in stone as the history of the world that G'raha lived in for a while, and what led to him jumping back in time to create this offshoot. The best we could do would be to create another offshoot gain, which has no guarantee of going any better than the timeline which already exists.

If we went anywhere in that timeline, it would have to be to the future part of it that G'raha departed from, and where the situation is currently open-ended. Though I don't really see any need to go there rather than continue to explore our own timeline – and we have plenty of material to cover, with the rest of the Source and then its parallel set of shards if we need somewhere else to go.
