Am I alone in this? Am I wrong? Are warriors really this much more powerful than other tanks? This feels off. I enjoy the way gunbreaker and dark knight play much more than warrior but warriors out here soloing basically everything. Or am I just bad at other tanks?

They are only stronger un dungeons because Bloodwhetting scales off of number of targets, in all other cases, it really isn't that much better as a short cooldown than the other tanks.

"Powerful" seems like the wrong word here. Being great in casual content doesn't matter at all. There is no enrage, mechanics are easy and not punishing, and a wipe isn't a big deal. Since damage doesn't matter at all, the only classes you truly need to clear normal content are support (tanks and healers). Warrior with its great self-sustain and being a tank fills both of these rolls for itself simultaneously.


Dark knight and Gunbreaker are still objectively better tanks.

I've been going GNB in roulettes and we can survive and I tank just fine. Not putting any additional stress on the healer because I see most dps a lot. I'm a healer main so that probably helps. I don't panic if they let me get low since I know their capabilities. Only had issue with a WHM in a Stone Vigil run only casting Cure so I just dialed pulls back.

WAR is kind of fun for the "warrior is immortal" meme but I feel like I earn it a bit more with GNB.

Just about every role in FFXIV has the 'friendlier' choice that are easier to pick up and play well with, and in the case of tanks that would be WAR. It does excel in dungeons, but it kind of ends there. The other three tanks are also good choices, but are a little tougher to play correctly. As such, they are also a lot more gratifying when you do.

Nah, you're all good, OP. In my opinion, WAR serves best as a "testing the waters" tank for content one hasn't completed yet, especially for dungeons.

Honestly yeah. Paladin is boring, Dark Knight is just as boring. Gunbreaker I want to like, but it's also boring. But Warrior is fun. I love going into Eureka and just soloing like 20 enemies with ease.
